Welcome to PIR 05/18/2012

OPSEC, OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Just a little "business" for the newer groups:

If your username contains your last name and it is the same as your Recruits...you will need to change it. Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on the N4M's site as per the Community Guidelines. If it is not the same it is still a good idea not to post it as this is a public forum. Anyone can read the open groups they do not have to be a member.

Please do not post personal phone numbers, emails etc. You may send these to your friends through the N4M's private messaging system.

I know how hard this is on everyone but you can do it. This site and all the friends you make on here will be a huge help. We all understand when no one else will :-)

Hi!  Finally got my letter today!  It was soo good to see his handwriting.  It is much neater than it used to be!  lol!  He didn't add a note on to it - I would have been shocked if he had!  All the info that the recruiter had given me was correct.  So that's good.  Now to wait for a phone call.  Maybe Easter Sunday?  That would be great!  This has turned out to be a great day!  Thanks for the support from everyone!

I am having huge issues as my son is my only son and I've been a single parent for 15 years.  I wake up several times a night. Hopefully the first call will help.

So bad night last night. I continue to wake up about 3:20ish and the start thinking that Michael gets up in a few minutes and then 4:00 rolls around and it's well I guess breakfast is happening..so hard to sleep...mind just goes like crazy...anyone else having these issues???

That's a very common feeling, navywife.  This is good practice for times when he will be deployed.  It's not easy being a Navy wife, that's for sure, and therefore I have the utmost respect for all military families and the sacrifices they make for their country.  Just try to focus on him becoming a sailor soon because you will never feel more proud.  I'm sure that the ladies on the "Wives/girlfriends" group can help you with these feelings.  They have all been there or are there.  Hang in there!  PIR will be such an exciting time for you!  Also, that first letter/phone call...well, and all others :-) ...helps alot.  Wonderful to see their writing/hear their voices.  Mine was my son so I know it is different, but we love them just the same!
