When my son was at bootcamp, most of his calls came on Sats, one on Sun....two on holidays. Each division is different. So like mmorales said, phones available at all times if possible!
mmorales - thanks Sunday would be great as I will not need to redo my make-up at work....i know it's going to be a teary call for me.... :>.....am so ready for the "next" step for all of us which seems like the call. just to hear Michael's voice and know how he's doing would be like winning the lotto!!!! Have a good day....talk with you soon.
Welcome Travismom: There is a Div 155 discussion group above if you would like to meet some others in your division. Stay on this board too though for lots of info!
Ah, May 25th is when my Sailor left for bootcamp 2 years ago :-)
mmorales - same here.....and this week it's going on the night stand...have to turn off the email alerts though....what i'm worried about is what if he calls during the day and I'm at work and my husband is at work too....thought of trying to conference him in but sooo afraid of losing the call....gotta talk to my husband about that one...i'm sure he'll say take the call and give him this message for me.
navywife2012 - I know...the girl sits next to me has strict orders that if I walk away from my desk and she hears the phone she is to answer it.... :>
Hello Group! My son left March 21st. I did receive the "box" last week and his recruiter did call with the ship and division number. Hopefully, he is in with Ship 11 Division 155. I still haven't received any letters or the form letter yet.
Nice size PIR group! Should be lots of room at PIR!
Pkg A on piks is normally the one that is the largest and most popular. They aren't CHEAP and some decide to take piks after PIR at a studio somewhere instead. I believe that Pkg A is about $140. The PIR DVD is $29. Worth getting (not included in the pkg). If you order Pkg A, comes with the KEEL (yearbook). It's free if SR orders the pkg, not free if you do.
mmorales, you can call the NEX on The Recruit Training command base and ask them how to pay for pictures. They should be able to tell you if your recruit has ordered them yet. The best thing to do is ask your recruit to get the biggest package and the DVD. The Keel comes with the big package. It is package A. You can then send them a blank check to pay for it, let your recruit pay for them (you can pay him/her back if you want) or you can pay for them after PIR. Just remember the lines for pictures will be long and it will take time that could be spent with your Sailor. You still have plenty of time to figure it all out with your recruit.
mmorales1973 - same here....they are laughing at me at work as I receive my work emails on my cell and everytime I get an email the phone "dings"....I have the volume up so loud....don't want to miss that call whenever it comes in....here's to strength in getting through week 3......and a call at the end of this week....that's what I'm hoping for.
