Lala: Why in the heck didn't one of you family members text you when she was walking by so many times! UGH! That is what texting is for! :-) I guess that the sailors need to give a "heads up" to their family during the I'm a Sailor call...on which bathroom they will use! :-)
Hint Hint: Re: what Betsy said about seeing the female sailors putting on makeup in the PIR hall restrooms before PIR...the bathroom area is a great place to "hang out" before PIR (make sure someone saves your seat!) to hopefully catch a glimpse of your sailor before PIR. Many unexpected "reunions" have happened pre-PIR in the bathroom area! :-)
Lots of people will have that issue :-) They normally have plenty of extra seats so it is not usually a problem. We had 13 divisions graduate and we took 4 extra guests and everyone got in without a problem. They have enough space for every new Sailor to have 4 guests for I believe 17 divisions. There are a lot of Sailors who only have one or two guests and sadly a lot who don't have any family who come to PIR. Depending on how large this PIR group is the extra guests may have to wait in the visitors center until all the guests on the list are seated then they will let the extras in. It should be too long before we know how many divisions are in this PIR group.
Betsy, when my daughter was there she sent me a letter and said since she was performing she would be getting ready or touching up lol in the restroom of the PIR hall and for me to meet her in there at 7:45. I waited in that restroom for almost an hour and never saw her. When I got back to my seat my family said where have you been? She had walked past them 4 or 5 times. I didn't know there was more than 1 restroom and I went to one and she went to the other lol. I did see some moms who just happened to run into their Sailor girls in the bathroom and it was an amazing site filled with lots and lots of joyful tears :-)

Ladies I just got a phone call from a mom who's daughter just had PIR yesterday. She is going to Pensacola for A-school and doesn't leave until Monday. So her parents are getting an unexpected extra two days with her. They won't be able to meet her at the airport on Monday because they fly back on Sunday but still great to have that extra time with her when they thought they would only have her on Friday. This is why we say to stay through Sunday if you can because it does happen :-)
anyone out there from Ship2 Div 927
vamom-try going to unique memory maker on Facebook...there you can view Lora's selection and will tell you where to go to order them...:) Have a great day!
gulfshares - Yes...please go ahead and start the Discussion for your Division.
Lala, when my son graduated, I saw a lot of the lady sailors in the restroom putting on their makeup and doing their hair. It was so cute to watch them.
Good morning everyone! I just thought I would let you know that I just ordered my PIR ribbons from LaLa...can't wait to receive them! :) She has a wonderful selection of ribbons and other items you can have her make to support your loved one at BC. You can view items available at uniquememorymakers.com and order your selection for PIR. Have a great day ladies!
