I too wanted to thank all the "Veteran" Mom's who have taken the time to help us: You all ROCK! :)

I got the 'box' yesterday and the form letter today-- and am positively thrilled to have received dirty clothes and a whole paragraph that I could actually read (handwriting has improved remarkably!!)!

Yup...they been awaitin'! LOL

Still haven't received the form letter as of today. I got my daughter's ship/div # from her recruiter yesterday. She arrived at BC on 3/20 so info should be correct. She is in Ship 12/Division 154 so this should be the correct PIR group. So glad to finally have this group set up & looking forward to making connections with a lot of other moms.

we got our form letter yesterday and it was addressed by our son, I have to tell you the Navy has already made a difference in him...his writing has improved tremendously... :>  I almost didn't believe he had written it.  I'm a week and half into his being gone and each and every day gets a little better...this sight is a rock that helps to lean on.  Again, thank you to all of you for your support, what would we moms do without each other.  Looking foward to meeting more of you and especially those in PIR 5/18...

Ha, Ha...Betsy...oooooo...you are finding such cool stuff to post!

Hello Hi Glitter Graphics and Scraps for Orkut, Myspace, Hi5

I'm Betsy and another one of the "veterans" on here.  Welcome everyone.  I've been part of N4M's for 2 years now (and helping out with PIR groups for about a year).  My youngest son is a CTT, who is currently stationed in Washington state (very far from our home state of Maryland) on the USS CVN 74 John C. Stennis aircraft carrier. My middle daughter's fiance is also in the Navy, as an ET, stationed in Pearl Harbor (where my daughter also lives) on the submarine, USS Key West.   Get ready for a fun ride.

Fingers getting tired! To many typos! LOL

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on March 29, 2012 at 4:31pm

Yes...we consider this the "Main page" of the PIR group...and yup it's to hopefully let you have a "home" for the next eight weeks. Many PIR groups remain active well after PIR because of the friendships you form here! You might want to stay on BC Moms or other groups you have joined...some do and some don't. You can lead other moms here or just connect with friends you have made that maybe aren't in the same PIR group. Then as you go along you will join others say for your SR's "A" School, then later if they are assigned to a Ship then there are Ship groups etc. All kinds!

Here is how to start a Discussion: (repost...forgot something!)

How to add a Discussion - Go to the bottom left corner of the Discussion Forum area (It's actually just above the comment box here.) and click "Add a Discussion".

Fill in the Title and any description you like.

For DIV discussion Titles a suggestion would be:

SHIP ##/ DIV ###

Simple as that! Then the other members from your div can reply and you can connect up even closer there.

Remember that you are ALL part of this TG though and to stay on the main pages to talk here too! Plus, we veteran moms mostly stay on the main pages of the groups. There are 7-8 PIR groups running at one time and so we do not get to the DF's as much. We do check them as often as we can...OPSEC rules apply there also.

Please only ONE discussion per Divsion...that way you can all be together!

There are several ways to "find" a group.

If you are looking for a new group to join...

- You can use the search engine (that could bring you a ton of stuff tough).

- You can click the "GROUPS" tab at the top of the page here underneath the N4M logo. That will always open up with the groups with the most members showing first as that is how it is "set" You can then change the setting by going to the "Sort by" option on the right just above where the groups are listed. Then you just click the drop down and choose: alphabetically, latest acvtivity, latest, or most active.

- You can go to BC Moms and scroll through as I post the current PIR groups at least weekly.

- Or when you first log in there is a link for "GROUPS: Listed by PIR date..." for just PIR groups.

When you log in to N4M's it always opens with the Main page for N4M's...to get to a Group that you have joined...just click the My Page tab at the top and it will take you to your Profile page (it's good to check this daily anyways incase someone has left you a comment)...then your groups will be listed on the side. Either by the "Groups" link in the list to open up to show your groups or further down the links are listed right there. You can change how many of your groups aer showing by cicking the Edit button and adjusting.

- You can also access your groups anytime you are on a group...look up at the top and you will see on the left it says All Groups and My Groups. My Groups will take you to a page that shows all of your groups.

One thing that I have done (because I am on a lot of groups) is I have saved each page of My Groups to the Favorites on my Computer. Then once I log in I can just go to my favorites and click page 1,2 or 3.
