For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

The final orders are issued after they complete BattleStations. Most flying out will be leaving the day after PIR usually, bussed to the airports during Friday/Saturday night, usually in the wee hours. However, since this is Memorial Day weekend, we can't rule out Sunday departures if they have a hard time getting flights on Sat. Flights can start as early as 6 something a.m. and continue until early that evening. Your new sailors will not know their exact flights until right before PIR. If they do not fly out on Saturday, you will get Liberty with them on Saturday in GL. You also can meet them at the airport, bringing ID so you can get an airlines gate pass and wait until their plane departs.
4 divisions may be doing BattleStations later this week one night, and the remainder will go during PIR week. We cannot post actual dates on the public forums, but we can message dates to each other. I have a good idea of which nights they go, from previous groups, but my confirmation comes from you all after you get info from your SRs. If you want to know my "guess," please send the question in a friend request to me with your division number.
BattleStations is an 12 hr overnight drill. It is followed by the capping ceremony, a very emotional time for them when they switch out their RECRUIT caps for their NAVY caps and their RDCs are so very proud of them! The calls will come later in the afternoon....they can start as early as 2 pm Central time (sometimes a little before, but not often) but can go for a long time.

My son is supposed to go to San Antonio for A school. When he called this past week, he said he was asked to interview for guardsman in DC. I don't know when he will find out or when we will hear if he was chisen. When would he leave for DC? When do they get their final orders?

diannep. I have a question. My husband is going with me to Chicago but wasn't able to make the list to attend the graduation. Is he able to get on the training center and is there a place that he could wait?
