~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The Weather Widget is interactive. Click the green dot on the top bar and drag it along the to change the time. Click LIVE to go back to current time. Click on the days to change to that day or expand out to six days.

Love BS21 weeks...all the "I'm a sailor calls" and new sailors heading to A school. I was at Pensacola a couple of Saturdays ago and got to welcome a hand full of new sailors there. They just walked in with their seabags and then were waiting to be processed. They were still pretty pumped about PIR. I was waiting in the long line to sign my AN out for the day, I was his liberty buddy!

Oh, and they do BattleStations at training week/day 6-5.

Comment by diannep on May 16, 2013 at 8:37am

aileen:  I don't know the mechanics of the push divisions, ellen can tell you more as her son was in one, but just know that they have several days less time to get it all done, but they do it!  This PIR group will start BattleStations the last week in May and continue during PIR week.  We can't post actual dates on here, but you can be asking your SR for their date.  It is an overnight drill  Be sure to read the BattleStations discusison above.

Good Morning All !

Comment by aileen3mc on May 16, 2013 at 7:33am

What week do they start Battle Stations? I have read different things, some say a week before PIR others say the week of PIR.  Also I noticed that some Divisions are in week 4 and others 5. How can they graduate together? I'm asking because my son wrote and said he was in a push Division and I thought that meant his group came in last to Boot Camp. (and the game of fifty questions start ;0)  )

Jaime30024 & mrsb,

Isn't that so like daughters and sons??  My Sailor daughter's letters were also full of detailed information!  We mommies like that.  The boys are just the facts, if they feel we need to know them~~  ;)

You're welcome, mrsb!

diannep, thanks for the info about which training week they are in-at least I have an idea of what they are doing.  Sure hoping for a letter or two tomorrow.  Thursdays seem to me my SR mail days!

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on May 15, 2013 at 7:29pm

lol Roni, some mix up with this site and it really looks like yuo are counting the day hahaha

Comment by Roni on May 15, 2013 at 7:25pm

jaime30024 I'm counting the days also!  I did the same thing and added a countdown app and I agree it does help.  I usually letters on Thursday so I'm hoping I get letters tomorrow.  I cannot wait!  I'm so excited!

Comment by diannep on May 15, 2013 at 7:04pm

janet:  Your post to Jamie  (jaime) made me LOL!  So funny....yep....funny how our compassion can change to jealousy in a heartbeat when those letters start arriving for some and not others!   HAAA!

If he had his PFA today, it may have been his 2nd one.  The final one (3rd) will be during the days prior to PIR.  That is the one that all must pass no matter what they did on the first two.  They can't do BattleStations until they do....

I will say....my son was in good shape when he left for PIR (was in DEP for 10 mos so got to train for a long time) but he was in SUPERB shape at PIR!  Best shape of his life!

LOVE the letters from the girls, jaime.  They provide the detail that we moms so love, right!    Totally agree with Baciandrio below on that.

Div 213-216/812/813 should be starting training week 5 tomorrow or Friday.  The remaining divisions, as jaime said, are just a few days behind them.
