~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Thank you Kevsmom93    however if truth be told I am totally dependent on hardcore news from Jaime's SR because that girl give us the low down.  Christopher uses his paper and pen to make doodles and hearts to Ashton (my daughter)...I think part of it is that old male gene kicking in, the other is he misses my girl and lastly he tries to protect us from anything would cause us worry.  A letter even filled with doodles is still welcome though :)

Thanks Jamie for the info.  I have rec'd ONE brief letter from my son and it mostly contained detailed drawings and descriptions of the bed (rack) that is hinged and includes storage compartments.  He is such an engineer!  He is is 219 and today was 4-1 for his division.  At least now I have some idea that he may have had his PFA today.  I just can't wait to hear about all of the accomplishments.  Your daughter's description of her muscles is funny to me because my 15 year old daughter sent my SR a letter that included her idea of his "before" picture and an "after BC" one.  The before was a stick boy and the after was a muscle man!

Thanks mrsb - I know the different division are on different training weeks.  I have seen some of the divisions are starting hell week (today) but for the most part they are all within a few days of each other.  I will pass on your thanks to my daughter.  It is funny because we didn't plan this and actually (before she left) she was like "oh letters I won't need them" but then she started writing me as soon as she could.  I was writing her as soon as she left in journal style too and it turned out we were both writing one another that way.  Sometimes by the time I mail a letter and ask her a question I might have the answer in another letter.

I still do not have the Form Letter (because she was SIQ when they mailed them), but she did assure me that she was working on getting one to me or at the least to get me the information that I need and the names on the guest list.  I am really hoping that I will catch a glimpse of her in a picture for PIR 05/24 since her division will be performing and working that PIR.

Wow jaime, your daughter is full of great information!!  Thank her for the rest of us whose son's scribble a few lines if we're lucky!!  I was wondering what training week it is; I never did figure that part out.  :)

Thank you Janet!  I am very thankful that my daughter writes me in journal style with daily occurences.  She said it makes her feel like she is talking to me.  The one thing about a girl is they do provide a lot of information.  She said that her Division 930 passed Marlinspike with 4 minutes to spare.  She said that they have been doing a lot of PT and IT.  Oh, their chow on Sunday May 5 had a Mexican/Spanish flair for Cinco de Mayo and they got Sour Cream...lol...she was happy about that.  She still cannot wait to get a sweet tea and a candy bar.  They had hair cuts and all the males and four females had to get hair cuts last week.  She confirmed that this past Monday 5/13 was week 4-1 for them and the beginning of Hell Week.  She sad that Monday Reveille was at 0300 and their 2nd PFA was at 0445.  Don't know how they did because she mailed the letter that Monday (5/13) so if she is on schedule then I will know next Wednesday when her next letter comes.  She said that they will not know travel until they get with the 'travel people' and they will likely be after BS21.  Told me that she has iron man calves (haha) and she can see her abs forming from all the PT and IT and she is happy about it.  So all in all she sounds good and 'they' sound good.

Jamie - I felt sorry for you in the beginning ... when you had not rec'd a form letter or a call or anything ... BUT NO MORE!!   : )  You have gotten so many letters and I'm sick with jealousy!!  Actually, I think it is wonderful for you, and I knew that my son would never write much.  Enjoy and share what you can!
