OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The Weather Widget is interactive. Click the green dot on the top bar and drag it along the to change the time. Click LIVE to go back to current time. Click on the days to change to that day or expand out to six days.

Good morning, I love all the excitement this group is in right now. I know how excited you are to get those calls today :-D And just a few more days until you will be hugging your Sailors. It was very exciting here last night as well. Our Sailor is home, Whoooo Hooooo. OMG, it is so good to have her home again. It has been 3 months since we saw her and that for just 2 days. This time we have her for 10 days and it feels so good to have her here. Her baby bump is getting so big and she is so adorable. We are going to be making all kinds of goodies this week for the new baby about to take over our lives. Well, she pretty much has already done that and she isn't even here yet lol. The babies name is going to be Eastyn and I will post a pic of what i already made for her :) I am sure we will be on a mission to a fabric store today or tomorrow lol. So many fun things we can make. I know you all are going to have a wonderful week as well and i am super excited for you :)

Good Morning Ladies (after midnight is morning!)

Just a little reminder that your Navy jouney does not end with PIR. Keep plugged into your PIR group, which will turn into an alumni group.  Pop on and update everyone with your Sailor's progress!!  Also, there are all kinds of groups here at Navy for Moms--A school, C school, rating (job) groups, state groups, regional groups, base groups, ship groups, and the Christian Chat group that I am a part of!!  Your Sailors signed up for 4 or 6 years and have lots more to experience on their Navy career~~
