N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The Weather Widget is interactive. Click the green dot on the top bar and drag it along the to change the time. Click LIVE to go back to current time. Click on the days to change to that day or expand out to six days.

Hi ProudNavyMom#1-thanks for the update but it was my twin sister separated at birth by aliens that you met-KevsMom93!!!  In hindsight, I should have come over to where everyone else was to see who was there.  We were kind of off by ourselves.  I really wasn't thinking clearly, having to say goodbye again and all.  I know our Sailors wanted to stay together but I guess "they" had other plans!  Oh well, I'm sure they will still be able to hang out.  Sounds much more relaxed around there right now-notice I said right now.  I imagine that in a few weeks the pace will pick up!  I have to say it's sooooo good to be able to get texts from my son and actually talk to him-he called last night!  So different from the last few weeks.  sorry this is so long!!!

Mrsb & Kevsmom you prob already know but they put my Sailor and his buddies in separate rooms. Maybe yours too? one newbie with an experienced Sailor. sounds to me like they are rooms as in college. two to a room with two rooms connected by a bathroom. my Sailor likes his room mates. they got there 3 weeks before he did. Mrsb was it you i met at the gate? My Sailor was the one who had everyone's paperwork.
We are still in Chicago. going home tomorrow. had an awesome time with my Sailor & my girls. God bless us all.

Is it too late to order a DVD of the ceremony?  If not, can someone give me the website.  My Sailor ordered the picture package, but did not order the DVD.

Thanks for the info.  We are in Baton Rouge and it is a longer drive for us.  We were thinking of bringing our son his truck on the 4th of July weekend, but I'm not sure if he is even allowed to have it parked there at that time.  I'll try to be patient as I wait for him to call me and answer some of my questions!  Thanks again ...

Janet, my son rating is Nuke MM and the school starts June 19. They will be on hold or indoctrination this week. My son told us to bring his car the second week of July. We are planning to go to Charleston the 4th of July weekend and then again to bring his jeep. It's only 6 hours to Charleston for us. All this if he gets to GC on time with his orders, God permits.
