~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The boy wonder mom -- is your son rated as a Nuke "MM"?  I've been wondering when my son's A school would start so I could plan when he'd be able to come home!  Also, we are planning to bring him his truck and I know he can't drive it for at least 4 - 5 weeks into A school.  I'm hoping your son makes it on time so he can be with his friends.

Just left my son at the chapel on base, checked out of the lodge and started my trip back to FL. It's too hard to stay. I miss him so much. I'm feeling like the first few weeks in BC. I don't know when and if we will communicate freely. His Nuke school starts on June 19. Praying that everything will be in place for him to start with the group. Have a wonderful night everyone.

mrsb, that's cool! I'm so glad we all made it through security pretty quick. And I'm glad they all made it safe to Groton!

KevsMom93, are our Sailors bunking together as planned?  :)

SailorZachsGirlfriend, Now that I look at you and your boyfriends picture again we were right behind you going through security yesterday!  I just didn't realize until now-I was a little fuzzy in the head with all the emotions.  My son just texted me yesterday that they were on a bus to Groton but from the message below I see they made it safely.  :)

Also a special thanks to the administrators of this group for diligently reminding us of the rules.  I almost lost my head once as groups of recruits marched by.  As a mom I thought, get pictures their moms want to see them!  Thankfully I caught myself before I took any pictures!

Is there a mom on here from Las Vegas, son has the initials RR?  We had the honor of adopting him after PIR.  I have a couple of pictures of him I can share with you.

Just wanted to say a thank-you to everyone who has been a part of this group.  With all of the pre-knowledge, it really helped us to plan our day ahead of time.  My son's only request was to spend time outdoors.  Since my husband had to work on Saturday we could only stay with him until 5, so not enough time for Navy Pier.  I'm jealous of the other moms who got to stay longer, but it worked out so that he could have alone time with his wife.  We went to the Chicago Botanical Gardens, which gives free parking admission ($25 reg.) with military I.D.  It was a perfect place for us to walk around and be outside together and it was only about 25 min. drive straight down Hwy. 41. Then we checked out a few beaches on Sheridan Road. It was so sad leaving him at the motel, I can just imagine how hard it must have been for everyone that night.  Thanks again everyone!
