N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The Weather Widget is interactive. Click the green dot on the top bar and drag it along the to change the time. Click LIVE to go back to current time. Click on the days to change to that day or expand out to six days.

Received an email from my son with same info. he is bunked up with two other guys in a three man room. Said the area in CT. is quite green and lots of trees, like a forest. Happy they have Sunday to get settled in and prepared for Monday.

ProudNavyMom#1, thank you for coming up and introducing yourself at the airport that was quite a surprise :-) Your son did a wonderful job keeping the group together and organized for their trip to CT, obviously a natural born leader :-) Also thank you for the sightseeing tips from your daughter in Chicago, we look forward to spending some time there before we leave.

Boy wonder mom -- thank you so much and thanks to your son for Those comforting words. Today has been harder than the day we sent him to MEPs. I planned for this weekend for nine weeks and blew the airport visit time. I'm usually so organized ... I'm just do disappointed that I failed to get him his things.

Did anyone know if the sailors going to Connecticut for sub school made it ok? My boyfriend is there and I didn't get to a call tonight. Probably because he was really tired from one hour of sleep last night, he had to do watch :( , and he doesn't have a phone yet.

Left my son at the base by the chapel about an hour ago, with tears in my eyes I watch him walk away to his holding ship. I can't begin to imagine how was it for all of you who said goodbye to your sailors once again this morning. I still have another day with my boy before we go back home. I know this is not what he wanted but it is what it is. Janet I told my son about what happened to you and your sailor, he tells me to tell you that your sailor will be able to borrow a laptop and a cell from any of the nukes, he adds that everyone is looking out for each other and that your sailor will be just fine. He tells me; we don't want our moms to be sad.

Janet,

(((Janet))) a big hug for you~~  Well, how long is your Sailor's A school??  You can start planning to see if there if that is doable.  Hoping another Sailor will allow him to borrow their cell so you can hear his voice, so keep your cell available and handy to pick up a call from an unfamiliar number.  Maybe a buddy will allow him to email you from their computer....

Also, there are state groups, regional groups, and Christian Chat that I am a member of~~
