~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The Weather Widget is interactive. Click the green dot on the top bar and drag it along the to change the time. Click LIVE to go back to current time. Click on the days to change to that day or expand out to six days.

Janet even if we are together now for a few days longer its bittersweet because I know what he really wanted was to get to SC together with the other Nukes, we have to make the best of it. Hopefully he will be on his way this week. You sound so sad, but I'm sure your son will be just fine. I know for us mothers that last contact means everything. Hope he gets to call you soon enough.

The boy wonder mom --- enjoy your time ... I'm super jealous!!! Perhaps those who left today will be "indoctrinate class" long enough for your son to catch up.

Hello ladies, still in the Navy Lodge and will be until Monday afternoon. My sailor is on hold for medical not that he's sick but because Nuke needs a special physical and his records from Florida are not here yet. So he was pretty upset days before PIR, we were too. I'm still am knowing that he wanted to be in SC with his friends at the same time. But the good thing about this is that we had all day yesterday to be together, went to eat, to the mall and we relaxed in the lodge were he took a shower and grab his beloved electronics. Took him back to base at 8:00. That was hard. This morning he called at 8:30 to be picked up. We went to Millenium Park, ate at a beautiful restaurant right there, went shopping downtown, to a comic shop, took so many amazing pictures!! Then we returned to the Logde and had delivery, now we are all listening to music and those BC tales! My sailor is relaxing. Tomorrow we have another liberty day, we will all take my oldest son to Ohare to flight back to FL. On PIR we got to seat with the VIP, the Commanding officer and all the staff because my brother in law is a Colonel with the Marines and he went to see his nephew PIR. So we really got lucky. It was a beautiful ceremony. When my sailor passed in front of us during the parade we took several pics of 214, so close it was amazing! I'm so very proud. Our sailors are amazing!

Thanks FTLW ---- I sent his things to A school by UPS. He should have them by Friday if UPS doesn't lose the box. I'm still so sad that I didn't get one more hug. I thought when I said goodbye on Friday that I'd see him one more time before he left. : (

I'm so sorry Janet. Big (((HUGS))) to you. He should hopefully get his address soon and you can send him his phone and computer.
Maybe he can get a "throw away" phone temporarily.

I got my Sailor back to base on time last night but have been miserably sad all day. He misread his itinerary and we did not make it to the airport to visit one last time or give him his phone. I knew we should go at 4:00 just in case but my husband and teenage daughter didn't want to go that early. He is now in SC with no phone and no computer and I have cried all day!!! We had 7 hours but he was too exhausted to be his normal entertaining self. I miss my sailor.

The Great Lakes/Chicago area so loves their sailors!  It made all of us feel so special when there for my son's PIR when so many thanked my son for his service.  He felt odd because he hadn't "served" yet but it made him feel proud, and he realized what a wonderful decision he made.

Hoping that there are more good times today at the airports and in the Chicago area for those with their sailors today!  :-)

Good Morning!

PIR was awesome! Spent a beautiful day with my Sailor! We will meet him at airport for one last hug before he leaves for A school. He is an awesome Sailor. Everywhere we went we were received with open arms because of him and what he represents. America the Beautiful! Thanks be to God Alleluia!!!
