~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

ProudMomtoKyle,

I go out to the mailbox frequently in the dark in my jammies to put out mail, but never had to tear through a horse pasture (and avoid the horse poopie--I know cow ones are called "cow patties", but are horse ones called??)  Avoiding the headlights!!  Wonder if they really did see you and had a chuckle!  We just had a Big Chuckle!!  LOL!

ProudMomToKyle:  They would be able to enter the base with you and your sailor...i.e., after Liberty when you are returning your sailor (must have ID of course).  But don't think they can enter the base on their own after PIR.

Good Morning All !

ProudMomToKyle: Thanks for reminding me about Etsy, just did a little shopping there myself tonight for PIR! Your t-shirt is going to look awesome :-)

The things we'll do for our boys! Glad you made it back safely from the mailbox!

Will the other members of my family that were not one of the 4 that attend the graduation ceremony be able to come on the base AFTER PIR?

I like your iron on! I haven't even thought of what to wear and it's almost here!!!! Go Ship 3 Div 214!!! HOOYAH!!!!

Comment by BonnieB GA Div 214 on May 21, 2013 at 11:45pm

Thanks mrsb!! I thought it was so cute and only $6.99! I'm gonna put it on a navy blue tshirt :)  I just realized I haven't notified my SR of my cell number change, so I ran out to the mailbox in my nightgown where I have a letter waiting to go! Tore thru the horse pasture and ducked some headlights to make sure he has it!! Don't wanna miss the "I'm a Sailor" call!!!! How dumb of me to change my number at this time!! WHAT was I thinking?!!!

Comment by mrsb on May 21, 2013 at 11:35pm

I like that ProudMomToKyle!  It would be fun to have a lot of us or all of us wearing that-we would definitely stand out!!

So so sorry everyone, it has been crazy around here. We think he is going to be okay. The vet gave him antibiotics, prednisone, and pain pills. It was really hard to get him to take the medicine because he is so swollen he wouldn't eat and he can't lap up any water and that is what worries me the most. My dad finally got him to take the medicine by hiding it in a small  piece of a McDonalds cheeseburger :) They wanted to put him in the hospital and give him antivenom but everyone we know who tried that with their dogs that got snake bites ended up with their dog dying so we didn't do it. He looks like a seal his he is so big and swollen. He was bitten four times in the mouth and face :( He had the snake in his mouth shaking it back and forth and my dad was out there with him. We think he was trying to protect my dad. Thanks so much for all your thoughts and prayers. We really appreciate it.

I love that pic everytime I see it  :)

CatMom, that is very cool to know. Poochie is half black lab and half Husky, that's where he gets the blue eye. I have a friend who works at the high school where I sub who has one green eye and one brown eye. So cool to see that in a person :)

jaime, I hope you find out soon that the names are on the list. I am sure if you told her who to put on there that she will get a chance to fix it when they do the final update for the list. But, I know it is very frustrating for all of you.
