for
~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Blessed Sunday!
"For the message of the cross is foolishness
to those who are perishing, but to us who are
being saved it is the Power of God."
I Corinthians 1:18
67firebird, We recommend that you stop sending letters the Fri or Sat before PIR. You probably have a pretty good idea when your letters are received.
Mail delivery the week of PIR might be spotty, BS might be a no mail day, the Friday of PIR is a no mail day, etc. Time to sort all the mail might be an issue with all that is going on the last week.
The RTC does try to forward all the mail to your Sailors school, but it doesn't always go well. :) There are hundreds of letters that arrive each day, and if the division is gone it is then a search for the Sailor game. Delayed orders, changed orders dozens of schools etc.
Chetta, Your son will probably pay for his pictures at the time of the order (you can pay him back), or you can pay for and pick them up after PIR.
I don't know about paying for them before PIR, you were at one time able to do so, but I don't know if that still holds true. Perhaps diannep or CatMom has the up and up on that one.
The KEEL is part of one of the photo packages and cannot be ordered separately, so yes your son will have to order it. The recruits see their pictures and order them at the same time, so tell your recruit to get the package with the KEEL.
Hey everyone I was just browsing around on the web address we all received in the formal letters our sr's sent and our gate pass can be printed out now, I will print mine tomorrow. Yeah! another day closer .
