Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

for
~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

No call yesterday BUT I learned that God did not intend for me to carry a phone in my bra!
Have a great day ladies and gents!
Good Morning everyone!!! Happy Hump Day :)
Good Morning!
Welcome to all of the new members in this group!
Lala Ribbon Queen is actually the same person as the one on uniquememorymakers.com (Lora). So you can reach her about the PIR ribbons on her page on here or on her website! She has other merchandise as well, including door banners for your hotel room.
Remember to keep that form letter in a safe place.....there is a password in there that you will use to download your gate pass for RTC within 11 days of PIR (not available normally until then). This is only used if you plan to drive onto the base. If using one of the shuttles, you won't need it, but it is a good thing to have just in case. One per car driving on base....if you are driving a rental car onto the base, be sure to have a copy of your rental car agreement with you also.
Those heading over to the FB PIR group, please stay on here too! Share info from there to here and vice versa. The best PIR groups on here have been ones where we shared info! We don't want anyone to miss out on anything!
Once RTC posts the divisions in this PIR group, ellen will start division/brother division discussions above for you all. In the meantime, feel free to friend request anyone on here you see in your same division in order to private message and share more personal info!
Just a reminder that their first mail call will be about 2 weeks after they arrive....once the Recruit Mail Petty Officer for their division is trained. Mail is held until then. It is possible that they will write their first letters to you/have them collected, right before they are given this mail, hence the reason some may ask why you haven't written? Just know that their first outgoing mail is collected and then incoming mail distributed on the same day. From then on, they will only able to write Sundays/mailed out Mondays but will receive mail M-F.
You can stay at Navy Lodge courtesy of your SR's Navy affiliation. Book in your SR's name if you do not have military ID yourself.. This is only available to you during PIR weekend. All other times, you must have your own military ID.
