Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Comment by ProudHusband3 on June 16, 2015 at 10:50am: I have been out of the loop for a little bit as my son and I have been traveling to visit family to keep us occupied while my wife is in training. First off thank you all for your continued support for everyone in this group. We know where we will be stationed after my SRs rate training so we are excited about that. Also a quick question, last time I spoke with my wife she said that the top grad award was between her and another SR in their sister divisions since they both had perfect scores on all their tests up to that point. So how will i know when or if she had received Honor award? Thanks a bunch. I know we are ALL excited!

Items Not Permitted Onboard RTC:  Contraband, including but not limited to: alcohol, illegal drugs, knives or weapons.  Smoking is not authorized on the installation.  Outdoor photography and videotaping. The graduation ceremony is held indoors, photo taking is permitted inside the ceremonial drill hall.  For security and privacy reasons, guests are not permitted past the Chapel parking lot or the parking garage structure for any reason.  Posters, balloons, flowers or luggage are not allowed in the visitors’ center/ceremonial drill hall. You may however keep these items in your vehicle.
