N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

ProudHusband.  Keep calling back to Navy Lodge...because they get cancellations!  Other hotels that are good (recommended by others on here) are:

Springhill Suites, Courtyard, Residence Inn, Holiday Inn Express, all in the Waukegan/Gurnee area, 4-5 miles from RTC (10 min).  Close to Sarge's MeetandGreet for you all, held the night before PIR.  Call these directly and ask for the Navy Graduation rate.  Don't wait!  There is a Six Flags in the area so hotels book quickly!

ProudHusband.  I think there is nothing more special than a daddy with his child.  With you caring for your son right now while your wife is gone, what a special extra bond you are creating!  My son has cared for his 19 mo old son alot for a long time while his mommy works....when my son wasw finishing school and not working, and even now before work.  It touches my heart to hear them giggling, playing games, etc.  I know you are taking great care of him!  I hope someone can video him seeing his mommy for the first time at PIR.  Happy smiles everywhere!

We normally tell the ladies to sometimes put the phone in the bra if somewhere when you need to rely on the vibrate rather than the ring.....but thinking that won't work for you!  :-)

Thank you all for that. Yeah my som has tablet and he loves to scroll thru pics of all of us and always says "mommy where r u" but i tell him mommy went to work and he says "ohh" lol but yeah she said we have nothing to worry about they are all good and nothing that they cant handle. She just asks for more pics and letters. My son and i have sent a bunch of letters, cards and pictures and more on the way. I really thank you all in this group. Means a bunch when we all are in the same boat and we rely on each other for that extra boost of encouragement.

ProudHusband3,

What a blessing your SR wife was able to call again and get ahold of you this time!!  So cute what your little poor was saying to his SR mommy~~  Keep your ringer on High or if in a noisy environment, put it on Vibrate in your pocket to reduce future missed calls.....  Oh, make sure your phone is always charged up too as I was reminded that a low battery causes calls to go straight into voicemail too~~
