Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

When I talk to my SR I will ask about his brother division and Sam. For those in this group ask your SR's if any know Jake.

I love that a group is started for each PIR date...I was very happy to get the form letter a few days ago and see my son's handwriting. He is in Ship 13, DIV 229. Forty-eight days and counting ladies....let's stay strong! :)

Ladies, just want to let you know that you can call your cell phone carrier and have your SR's phone put on Military Suspension for the 2 months that they are in Boot Camp. This will save on a couple of months of charges while their phone is not being used. You can reactivate them for the day before PIR. Verizon Wireless allowed me to do this online. It was easy peasy!!

You have blessed her with a beautiful name! I, myself have a different name--Denetta--and I gave my 3 daughters different names with different spellings. My mommy made up my name and I liked being original with my daughters' names too. Yea, I'm always spelling all our names, but I like it, it makes them even more special. Of course, I had to marry a husband with a weird last name (he's Filipino), so I have to spell that too!!

Oh yea, I have a Navy daughter who is now in A School in Pensacola studying IT. Her PIR was in March of this year. Her A school will be done in August.

I provide the scriptural encouragement and any other advice that I know about for the groups I am on here and I love the ministry that the Lord has given me!
