N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The timer just kicked over to 3 days :). So excited that we are thisclose to seeing  our loved ones - or at least having more contact if you can't make PIR. Hope everyone has a great day!

Morning everyone.  Just a few more days!!!  Got a question for any veteran PIR moms on here.  Last night my husband suggested we utilize the Metra and subways around the area instead of renting a car.  Thoughts?  Talked to my SR Saturday and he wants to go to Navy Pier to eat Friday.  Just want to make sure we have plenty of time to get him back.

Also, we're staying at Navy Lodge - is it within walking distance of the gate or should we schedule a shuttle with Sarge?

Not sure if there were any BattleStations last night...sometimes they go on Sunday nights, sometimes they don't.  If they went, it would have been 233/234 most likely.

Keep phones handy this afternoon just in case !

Good Morning!

Lala,

Oh pneumonia!  Get your rest now that it is quiet.  Wow, another one off to another Boot Camp.  I will be praying for your offspring (not sure if I should still call them children or kids--lol!) and yourself for quick healing~~

Lala:  Hope you feel better soon!  I received my ribbons yesterday.  They are absolutely gorgeous.  We will definitely wear them proudly!!!

Thanks so much everyone, I know you all will wear them proudly :) CO-TwinS- that will be just fine. There is no deadline at all :) Be sure and let me know if you want me to leave the pin off the back since they are for a scrapbook :)

Hi everyone, I hope you all are having a great Father's Day :) I am recuperating from pneumonia and trying very hard to get better. My Sailor is gone back to her home/base in VA and my youngest left this morning for Fire Academy Boot Camp for 8 weeks. It's very quiet here today for sure and i miss them both already. I know all of you are beyond ready to hug your Sailors :)  {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

LaLa I couldn't get your ribbons now, both boys wanted challenge coins. I do want two for the scrapbooks I am starting for them. I will get them later. I know where to find you.

Karen... I have my Blue candle lit today and will burn it till I leave for Chicago! Big day for our SR's tomorrow... I will be ok up until Tuesday when I'm waiting for that call! All SR's are in my thoughts and prayers for their final test! I'm excited to meet all the mom's and wives that helped me get through this journey through Boot Camp, what a ride it was from the kid in a box on till that final call phone call!
