N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Bootcamp is the very hard part for families during the Navy journey.  A School is better because you will be in contact again...you can even SKYPE or FACETIME with your sailor then.  Even on deployments, they usually can stay in email contact at times....so hang in there...it gets better!

Hello...I'm still trying to figure out this website. Im confused but hope I'll figure it out. My daughter will graduate on the 21st. I am very unsure about all the things I need to do to prepare. Any help would be appreciated. Adjusting without her has been difficult. She is my middle daughter, and the first one to LEAVE our hometown area. The youngest girl is 14 and missing her sis terribly. I haven't touched her room, other that go in and sit on her bed at times. I want her to be happy, we just weren't expecting this.

Thanks so much, trags.  She will so appreciate the prayers!

Oh, diannep, that is breaking my heart about your neighbor. I can't even imagine making that decision alone, and sleepless nights - that was hard for us, too. For an 80-year-old, that's extra hard. I will say a prayer that she can make the decision that is best for her best furry friend, and that her vet friend will be able to help her. I found that it was easy to say the right decision, but it was not easy to go through with it.

Lala, you are very talented! That dress is toooooo cute!

Beautiful, Lala.  You are so talented!

trags....I can imagine that your brain/heart are still programmed to look for Max.  I had a hard time with mine's empty bed....feeding just one....but it did help to at least still have dog routine.  It is true that time does heal...but we never forget our very special furry friends.  I have an 80 yr old neighbor with a 13 yr old bluetick hound.  Loves that dog.  Widow, with tons of cats too....but the dog is her best friend.  She said she knows its time to "make a decision" for her because she is hurting...and won't get better...but she is struggling with this decision.  She has been through this before with her other dogs but had her hubby for support then.  She told me that "Sugar" just gives her that look....like saying:  Help me.  My friend just can't do it yet...she has to be ready in her own heart....but in the meantime, both are spending sleepless nights which is not good for either.  Her vet is her good friend so hoping that he can "work with her" on what is best and when.

Good Morning All !

Lala that is the cutest little dress!!! I LOVE the name Eastyn! Congratulations to your daughter and your family. I will definitely be praying for her to have a stress/sick free pregnancy and a smooth delivery!

Thanks so much trags, she definitely will be styling :) Here is the first dress I made for her and the first thing for her period. I made this as soon as I knew my Sailors were having a baby and didn't even know if we were having a girl or boy lol. I knew I might have to make little overalls instead lol :)

Comment by trags8 on June 4, 2013 at 8:16am

Thank you, Lala, and I was so scared for you, too, being bitten by a copperhead. So glad yours is better!!

And diannep, yes, it's been good to still have our other doggie - keeping the routines - but sad at the same time cause when I give a treat, or feed, I'm looking for Max.

Lala, such great news with your Sailor HOME!!! Yippee! And getting ready for a baby - so fantastic! Love the blanket! With your talent, Eastlyn will be stylin'! Congrats!

I am so so sorry Tragas for the loss of your furbaby :( We had such a scare when ours was bitten four times in the mouth and face by a copperhead a couple weeks ago. My heart breaks for you {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

Good morning everyone, I can't believe how close you all are getting to PIR. I know how excited you are to get your Sailor calls and be on your way to Great Lakes.  :-D  It was a very exciting night at my house last night. Our Sailor is home, Whoooo Hooooo. OMG, it is so good to have her home again. It has been 3 months since we saw her and that for just 2 days. This time we have her for 10 days and it feels so good to have her here. Her baby bump is getting so big and she is so adorable. Her Sailor hubby didn't get to come with her this trip. We are going to be making all kinds of goodies this week for the new baby about to take over our lives. Well, she pretty much has already taken over our lives and she isn't even here yet lol. The babies name is going to be Eastyn and I will post a pic of what i already made for her :) I am sure we will be on a mission to a fabric store today or tomorrow lol. So many fun things we can make. I know you all super excited to finally see your Sailors and it won't be long at all now, I am super excited for you :)
