N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

cjbmom:  The two airports they fly from are:

Chicago OHare and Chicago Midway...

They won't know until shortly before PIR which one they fly from.  So not sure you can coordinate the airports with your personal plans.  You can go on your SR's A School page on here and ask which airports those sailors flew from, and maybe one will be more than another.  But even then, the Navy will book the flights where they can get the group together so there are no guarantees.

cjbmom,

There is really no way to tell for sure which airport (O'Hare or Midway) you SR will flight to their A school.  If you are part of the A school group, you might want to do an informal survey of the moms already there to see which airport was used most recently~~

When my Sailor daughter graduated in 2013, she flew out of Midway while I arrived via O'Hare.  My friend's daughter flew out of O'Hare and she arrived using Midway~~

Certain airlines only fly in on one and not the other.  Think Southwest only flies into MIdway, not O'Hare?  Delta flies into both~~

Good morning everyone! Catmom509 thank you for the verses, I have shared many of them with my SR!

Good morning.  We are almost done with this chapter!  Does anyone know if when they (SR, well then sailors) fly out for A school, do they all leave from the same airport?  If so, which one?  My daughter will be going to Texas, so I'm trying to make my plans to see her off at the right airport and may as well try to fly back home from there as well.  If at all possible...maximize my time with her.

Gals,

You are all welcome!  Sometimes in the past groups, the RDCs would tell the SRs to let their families know about this stage of their training, but lately this hasn't been shared..... I'd rather put your minds at ease!!  11 More Days!!

My SR has also been receiving BAH since the June 1st check. As long as he had all his paperwork and his direct deposit form with him before he left he should be receiving it. If not yet, don't worry they will back pay all of it
