~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The Navy Lodge is who I called, oh well, I will wait on papers, be a big girl and wait. when did you get your letter Marc mom? my son in ship 14 div. 242
Just the form letter with his address and PIR date. But I already booked our room at the Navy Lodge. They didn't ask for any rank. The last time I stayed there, several years ago, when we checked into the Lodge, then we just needed his ship and division (and his name)
Have any of you got your Papers yet, I tried to book our hotel today, and they needed a rank? so I'm waiting, just wondered if any of you had gotten yours yet. I'm so looking forward to my first letter, phone call. I know NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS. Looks like its a rainy day up there.
Good Morning All ! This group is now up to 15 members. Others should be finding it soon.
Oh my gosh, Craig. You broke the cardinal rule: NEVER contradict a mom talking to her child! Uh oh....you better go back in the corner. You'll be safer there.
ellen, it isn't the 1st time I've been in trouble today....
I actually ruined a young mothers day today. Her kid was violently pressing the cross-walk button non-stop, the mom said "Stop it!"
The kid said "It makes it go faster".
The mom said "It does not! now stop it!"
The kid looked around to me, and I don't know why, but I nodded and quietly said "Yeah, it does". The mom look at me with the most hatred I've ever seen. I wonder how many mother/daughter trust issues I just sparked?
Yeah, Craig is in the corner this time. I was in the corner yesterday Craig, she will eventually set you free. LOL
Ok, in the corner for you, Craig...for your potty mouth.... Sigh... :-)
MariElaine. Glad you got it all booked! :-)
