~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Also, does anyone know when the graduation recruits return to barracks on Saturday evening? We're trying t determine what time to book our return flight.
I spoke with a gal at SW and she said they do charge you a fee if you have to change the flight...how do I go about it like you did?
Ok, not that I'm anxious or anything (: but I just booked my flight and hotel (:
MariElaine, I like SW because they don't charge you a fee if you have to rebook.....that money is saved for one year.......the other airlines charge a cancellation fee unless you want to buy a refundable fare with is usually HIGH
My son is Ship 14 Div 242
Remember to check Southwest into Chicago-Midway and Milwaukee. Milwaukee is a bit closer to GL than Midway is.
MariElaine: I agree with MarcsMom. Check Southwest online. There is one online price, WannaGetAway, that is much cheaper. Refundable tickets are pretty pricey. If you fly Southwest, there is no change fee if you need to change the reservations and you can use the ticket within a year of issue date.
I flew Southwest on personal travel last year. My first flight had a pretty big delay for mechanical reasons, and they issued us each a $100 voucher to be used within a year. I was able to give it to a N4Mom going up for her sailor's PIR since it was about to expire and I couldn't use it. And, also, 2 bags check for free on Southwest!
Thank you Marcs_mom(Judi) SH13 DI 240 ...did you purchase a refundable?
also, check on SW website instead of calling. You will find several different prices for different flights
It all depends on where you are coming from. Check on Farecompare.com I know that AA is a little cheaper than SW. I just booked our flight on SW
