N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

...phone in the bra, 25Navymom.  If you have it on vibrate too, it may cause you to jump in a freaky way, but you won't miss the next call!  Don't worry...happens alot.  Hopefully another one will come to you soon....but I know a Mothers Day weekend call was a special one  :-(

So upset ... I missed my SR call. :(
He called my ex , who then called me to inform me my son is doing well and is looking forward to seeing us. I checked my phone and there is a missed call at 7:11 am ..I could kick myself for not having my phone next to me...
Learned my lesson ,,the hard way .

M'smom:  Said beautifully by your son!  When my son was there, he said the same thing.  He had told me before he left that he wouldn't write because he didn't like writing, but he would call when he could.  Well, when I finally talked to him, he said:  Please write alot Mom!  We live for letters!  ....And, he actually wrote me 5 which is huge for him!

Most of them are not prepared for the "isolation" from the rest of the world.....so....your letters are their "connection" to that!  One mom once posted on here that she was afraid she was writing too often....personally, I don't think that is possible from a SR's point of view while in bootcamp!  :-)

Congrats on the calls and hoping there will be more today!  Very fortunate for you all to hear from your SR during Mothers Day weekend, as all divisions in this PIR group most likely won't be able to call during the weekend....but we can keep fingers crossed!
