~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

I just got the "I'm a sailor" call.... I am so proud, but upset the call got disconnected, from bad reception. He sounded tired, but still in good spirits. Congratulations... and stay by your phones.. Ship 13 Div 216.
Happy PIR Day!!
"The counsel of the Lord stands forever,
the plans of His Heart to all generations."
Psalm 33:11
215/216 families: Be checking your new sailor's FB account today since some get on the computers before they get to call!
Good Morning!
Phones close for those in 215/216 today....I'm a Sailor calls expected starting as early as 2 pm Central today! Congrats!
jrjam: It is true that some extras are allowed to watch the Livestream in the Chapel. However, RTC asks that extras please stay off base and watch the Livestream at the hotels, etc. But if there are unusual circumstances, like children that need to be nearby families, disabled or elderly family members, they may be allowed to watch at the Chapel. I emailed RTC Public Affairs to ask this in the past and that is what I was told. If you want to bring extras to see if they can get into the Chapel, you can, but if they are denied, be sure they have a way back to the hotel.
Good Morning... I received a letter from my SR yesterday... and now I ask: Do you know how many are allowed to PIR? I understand that the 4 people he listed are allowed in the ceremony, but he insists that as "many" of the family can come and watch from the chapel on the big screen. Can anyone confirm this? and a little more info.... and 1 week away from Meet and Greet ... and then we can see our Sailors :)
