Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Blessed Sunday!

Jande0621,

You could join a group where all the Sailors have the same ratings (job) and there might be several San Diego A school groups.  You need to choose an active one where the comments were from at least June and July of this year.  You won't learn anything if the last comment was from 2011--heh! heh!

Go up to the Groups tab and put in a few queries for San Diego A school or what is the actual name of the school like "NAS Sailors" or whatever.

Good morning everyone, I am so sorry I haven't been here very much to help you all. My brand new computer won't turn on so I am having to pay someone today to get all my pics off of it before I send it back to Dell to get it repaired. I have been borrowing my hubby's computer but he is back from his fishing trip so I don't have access to it as much now. I am trying to figure out how to use my Kindle to get online. Really hoping that works :) If anyone need to reach me I can and will check emails and facebook messages from my phone or if you have my number you can call me :) I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Here is hubby's biggest catch lol. It is a Warsaw Grouper caught on the Gulf Star out of Tarpon Springs FL. We know it weighs more than 250 lbs but they are having a contest to see who can guess the weight before they tell us how much it weighed. I hope I win even though I have no idea what the prize is lol.

zacsfan,

I hope your Sailor told you what time he will be at the airport.  I would plan to be there a 3:00 am to get the most time with him.  Then you can follow his group to get the Gate Pass after they get their Boarding Passes!!

Most all the airlines welcome the families to see their Sailors off as it is a weekly occurrence at Midway and O'Hare~~

Comment by BAMFMOM on July 11, 2014 at 5:08pm
Go to the ticket counter and ask for a pass to get to the gate. Have ID and sailor's Navy info for proof. If you're lucky you will get a very nice ticket agent who will oblige. Good luck!
