OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Good morning!  Glad to see others with children in Ship 13, DIV 216.  Look forward to meeting you on July 11th.  Got a call from my son on Saturday.  He sounded "charged" and excited to be doing what he is doing.  On the flip side he was coughing the complete time and said he felt bad.  He said he was going to give in and go to the doc today.  Hope he does OK.

zacsfan:  Try not to worry....if there is more info needed from you or if there is a delay in training, you will be called.  Please try to go on the no news is good news during Bootcamp!

Good Morning All !

Denise,

Each division needs to train their own Mail Petty Officer to sort and distribute the mail. Not sure if this person also handles collecting the outgoing mail to go to the U.S. Post Office. Also, the RDCs handle phone calls differently and alot depends on how well the division is meshing and listening (or not).

Oh yea, the 900 divisions (performance divisions) have alot of practice for PIR in addition to their regular train, so they may be a tad more tired~~

I am reading the posts and wonder if anyone knows why my son is not testing yet? I guess I should say he has not said anything. Just curious if this is something I should worry about.

I got a call today also. He said they took out his wisdom teeth on Thursday and he got the peanut butter shot last week. He sounded a little more tired than last week. His girlfriend was excited that she didn't miss his call this time like she did last week. He carries a rifle on the color guard and said they have about half of their routine figured out for PIR. I can't wait to see it!

jrjam5:  Yes, they learn quickly that some of the payphones have a lousy connection.  Sometimes you can have them push the line into the phone (connection may be loose) but this doesn't always help.  My son called from one of those phones as well when he was there and it was very hard to hear him.
