OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Not me in the pik but rather a N4Moms friend who for sure didn't want to miss HER call!

Eric, if you wore a bra....and I'm assuming you do NOT  :-)....we would tell you to put your phone in that while mowing the grass, etc....so the vibration would alert you to the call.  But sadly, we have no suggestion for where a guy can put it....although some have taped them to their 4heads!  See pik below!

Indeed! Congrats to all those who have earned those marksmanship ribbons. Mine had never shot a weapon before in her life and shes already suggested that we put some rounds down range together when she eventually makes it home - she really got into that live fire. Boot camp has certainly changed her, I read it in her letters and hear it in her voice when she calls. Speaking of which, I think I'd rather not know when they're supposed to call from here on out lol. Its taken me all evening to cut some grass because I couldnt hear the phone over the mower in anticipation of the call she said they were supposed to get today. I was out there with my cell bungie corded to my shoulder doing test calls from another cell seeing if I could hear it over its engine running haha... But as a Parris Island Alumni I realize things can happen and change quickly in boot camp, perhaps tomorrow.

 mornin'!

I have not introduced myself, so here goes (I know big high point of y'alls day!)

FireTeamLeaderWife here!

My Sailor PIR’d on 05/26/2011. He is a Seabee Reservist. I am now a Retired AF Reservist wife (30 years)…I know …not Navy…but I am familiar with military life! We have been through two Deployments…one right after 9/11 and one in 2011.

Our son enlisted while Hubby was in Iraq. This site was a Godsend and helped me get through not only our sons BC experience but my husbands and my separation for 6 months.

I am a “veteran” mom on the PIR groups mostly. I have been on them now since 2011 and we have 7-8 PIR groups running at the same time.

I've been out of the loop for about six months or so...but hope to be able to pop in and lend support any way I can.

Blessings to you all!

BoatingMom:  I sent you a friend request asking for the date for 815.  Thanks!

Good Morning All !

NukeWife:  Someone just shared in last week's PIR group that one on their list couldn't make it.  Another came instead....but wasn't on the list.  Went to RTC with the others....that person was separated from those on the list, but before PIR started, allowed in the PIR Hall to watch PIR with the others.  Sooo....if your mom's name is not on there, and you don't have the full 4 names on there (i.e., she is not an "extra"), she may want to try and go to PIR....they may separate her out to check things out, but hopefully, she could join you in PIR Hall eventually.  If not, then they would probably have her stay in the Chapel and watch the Livestream.  She could meet up with you all afterwards.
