Just a thought... do you all remember 3 weeks ago we were all so sad (and happy) at our children leaving for BC.  As I read these post, I smile because we are planning a celebration, we're upbeat.  Sure we would all like to hear more from our SR but there is a different emotion now.  And I feel for the mothers who SRs are leaving this week.  We know how much their hearts hurt.   It is nice to read the excitment in the post  and think about meeting you all in person.

A reminder for all of you to consider checking www.TripAdvisor.com for reviews on whatever hotel you are planning to book with!  There are some good ones out there, and some not-so-good ones!

Hobby Lobby has a lot of patriotic decorations, too; have fun!

That is such a cute idea Deputydawgofduke!  I might have to try and make one of those.  Headed to Hobby Lobby today... perfect timing with Independence Day coming up!

Thanks MamaValley,   I did Google "door banners at Navy Lodge" and got a few ideas.  Target has some things for decorating red, white and blue.  Someone recommended Tyvek material for a banner - like paper, doesn't tear, waterproof and lightweight.  She wanted something to pack in a suitcase.  They also showed a sign for the shower - "TAKE AS LONG AS YOU LIKE" - because their showers at BC are timed.

I tried to copy a picture from Pinterest but it was way too big.  If you go on and type in  Navy PIR Door decoration  there are a few ideas.  I also think there are a few ideas on the N4M site as well.

We are staying at the Spring Hill Marriott. I would love to see a sample of the door decorations so I can get some ideas. I have a lot of red, white and blue decorations left-over from his going away party.

We are also at the Navy Lodge. I think I have small bunting that will hang above the door nicely. Can't wait!

We're at the Navy Lodge also.   Shannon, where are you seeing the door decorations?   I want to see too.  Are there guidelines for the door signs?
