Good Afternoon, Everyone!

prdofmyfabs:  Yep, I agree with CatMom.  It is the Navy /your SR, and any info your SR wants you to have has to be conveyed by your SR.  Some SRs are hospitalized briefly during Bootcamp (pneumonia, etc) and it is only then that they can usually call from the hospital and let you know about their hospital stay....and some can't even do that, and let families know after the fact.  They are legally adults now, enlisted in the military, and are treated as such.  Even if they are being separated from the Navy, no Navy personnel can talk to you at all unless your SR signs a form giving permission.  The SRs have all of the power in communicating with you!

I hope he is feeling much better now!

prdofmyfabs,

Remember that your SR son is an adult and the Navy treats him so and only deals with him.  Information comes from your son to you and not the Navy unless there is some sort of special paperwork that makes it possible for contact to be made with you in certain circumstances.  Yep, this Navy journey helps our sons and daughters learn to be independent of us!!  Glad he is better though~~  :)

I got to talk to my SR yesterda too and we got to talk for a little bit over 30 minutes. I loved hearing his voice and talking to him but he sounded very sad. I can tell he is having a rough time. He got a reaction from the peanut butter shot and had high fevers and was in bed for 2 days. I felt terrible not being able to be with him for that. I wish they would have notified us that he was sick.  Well, I can't wait to see him and I am counting the days til graduation. Glad almost everyone has received a call.

Has anyone from 240 received a telephone call?
