Two letters Thursday, was exciting, upbeat letters, so encouraging, made us so proud...certainly did our hearts good, other dear friends received notes for him too and let us know he sounded good!! Looking forward to graduation, and to his next phase of his journey. So proud of him, he seems to be adjusting well, Mature, no complaining at all!! Positive Energy...Attitude...determines.. Altitude,(he has heard us quote that many, many times), thank you Lord for the letter, working in these young men/women's lives..may the Peace of God, that passes all understanding, dwell in them richly, and each family...Praying for all families...we hope to get call soon, but the letters did the trick, now to hear his voice, but knowing he is on Target, Not home sick yet(although, we are home sick for him), sure does our hearts good. Actually, they do a lot better than us, mother's & grandmother's..Love, Prayers to all!! Proverbs 17:17, Romans 8:28
I'm so happy for all of you receiving letters; just seeing our children's handwriting on an envelope is enough to get us crying! I'm still waiting for a letter, but also trying to be realistic. My son spent three years away from home, two of those in college, and he never wrote home. We texted and talked, but if he actually writes home, I'll be shocked! However, as has been said, this is definitely NOT college, so there's always hope. This has been a hard week, though, and I miss him in so many ways that I didn't when he went out of state to college. He's actually closer to home now since we live in Illinois, but definitely out of reach. I pray for him every day, and placing my fingertips on his photo and praying for him to have faith and strength and success definitely helps.
It happens a lot where you get your first letter and the address differs from the form letter. Here is a link to the addresses as posted by the RTC (don't forget to add your recruits division # after the ship #).
blackbelt- I am sure your letter will come soon! I just got mine today as well!! :)
I got not one, but two letters today! I am elated and happy and blessed. The Navy has many downfalls, but it makes you appreciate the small things. I cried tears of relief and happiness when I saw a letter from him in the mail. Oh, sweet joy. I hope you all get your letters soon <3
Shannon, did he exclude the last four digits after the zip code altogether or were they different numbers entirely?
