No personal letter here. Received form letter. Received phone call Tuesday night 10:15 pm from "US government" It was my son needing a copy of his passport emailed up. When I asked how he was doing he said "good, I can't talk now" The call was literally less that two minutes. I keep shouting I love you, be strong, do good. His voice sounded strong and good I just wish we could have talked longer but I'll take anything I can get. We booked at Navy Lodge. Two weeks down! Can't wait for PIR Have a good day everyone. Praying for letters for everyone.
Your Form Letters can come any day of the week within the first 2 - 3 weeks of Boot Camp arrival, but personal letters arrive on Wednesdays or Thursdays. The SRs get to write on Sundays (or if they sneak, any time they can carve out) and mail them out on Mondays~ Each division will train a Mail Petty Officer responsible for sorting and distributing the mail that comes in~~
MamaValley - I'm glad you stayed then! I'm sure your recruit was relieved to hear your voice! I'm praying letters will be received this week.
Indiboxer - you are never alone! We are all feeling the same things. Mixed emotions. Knowing our recruits are doing well and succeeding but just wanting to hear them say that! You know what I mean? I am sure he is great but I want to hear/see those words come from him, it would mean a lot and ease my mind and heart.
Lovemysailor - we haven't gotten anything but the form letter. I was sure hoping that a personal letter would arrive. I am stalking the mailman but he just shakes his head at me! Ugh! We did get a call over the weekend and I was so surprised because I really thought it wouldn't come until this weekend. Hubby wanted to go fishing and I told him no last week because I was worried we would go somewhere without cell service. Now I just want to see his handwriting and want him to tell me how he is doing and how it is going. Ship 12 Div 239
Has anyone received a phone call/personal letter from their sailor?? I was really thinking that the letter would come today, but it didn't unfortunately. Anyone have better luck?? I'm trying not to get discouraged.. just hoping it'll be soon.
Greetings!

the Holy One of Israel:
I am the Lord Your God, who teaches you
what is best for you, who directs you in
the way you should go."
