Welcome to the new members of the group! Glad you are here!
Good Morning!
Happy Friday All!!! Only 7 more Fridays til we see our off-spring!!! ( I was going to say babies, but they aren't babies anymore! :( )
Hi everyone, well my daughter made it to San Diego, so hard to believe she will be living there for the next 4 years. This week was her 4th anniversary of being in the Navy and now she is a Veteran and a Navy Wife. So although she isn't a sailor anymore she is still very much in the Navy life. She is going to talk to a recruiter in San Diego about joining the Navy Active reserves and she will also be going back to school to finish her degree. I sure am going to miss having her on the east coast. I have had her and my grand baby here for almost a month and they have kept me super busy. Between that and my business I haven't been on here as much as I would like. I will try to be here more, I will be in San Diego in a few days to visit and help them get unpacked and of course see as much of CA as possible. If you live in that area let me know, We are having a Navy Mom meet and greet June 7th, while we are there :)
I know right now 8 weeks of boot camp seems like forever but believe me when I say those 8 weeks will pass much more quickly than you think. And the next 4 years will fly and you will be wondering where on earth the time went.
Got my letter today! PIR July 18th officially. Let the countdown begin :) Already booked our room! Still miss that kis like crazy but nice to see a light at the end of the tunnel.
Welcome, korymae! Glad you are here! Just know that they hold the mail from the SRs for about 2 weeks after arrival, until they can get the Recruit Mail Petty Officer trained. So it will be a big day for your SR when he gets all of those letters! Also, they usually write their first letters to you right before they receive this held mail, so if your 1st letter says: Why haven't you written?....know that he probably received this held mail right after writing his letter! After that, they can only write once a week (collected on Sundays) but they can receive mail M-F.
Good Morning!
"How priceless is Your unfailing love!
Both high and low among men find refuge
in the shadow of Your wings."
Psalm 36:7
Welcome Jumanji! You have lots of experience with the military so all may be looking to you for guidance! Stay here in this group until your date is confirmed or you are moved to the next one!
Good Morning Everyone!
Hey Gals,
If your mail carrier is your regular one, I think it's okay to let him/her know that your son/daughter joined the Navy, so that's why you are so anxious for the mail to be delivered~~
Hi all, I did not receive my box or letter today, but did get his address from his recruiting officer. I was wrong about his division. My son is Ship 11, division 224. Thats what I get for trying to figure things out before I received any information. I guess I will learn as I go along. I did book my hotel yesterday as you can always change the date. Waiting to book my flight, but I will check southwest.
