As I wrote to my son tonight, who I am STILL waiting to hear from, I decided to search online for some words of encouragement that might inspire and uplift him.  I found this poem somewhere.  It was actually posted by a woman who said that she and her husband, who had both been through boot camp, found much inspiration from this poem.  I thought I would share it with you ladies, in case you, too, would like to share it with your loved one.

See It Through by Edgar Albert Guest

When you're up against a trouble,

Meet it squarely face to face;

Lift your chin and set your shoulders,

Plant your feet and take a brace;

When it's vain to try to dodge it,

Dothe best that you can do;

You may fail, but you may conquer;

See it through!

Black may be the clouds about you,

And your future may seem grim;

But don't let your nerve desert you,

Keep yourself in fighting trim;

If the worst is bound to happen

Spite of all that you can do,

Running from it will not save you;

See it through!

Even hope may seem but futil

When with troubles you're beset;

But remember you are facing

Just what other men have met;

You may fail, but fail still fighting;

Don't give up what'ere you do;

Eyes front, head high to the finish;

See it through!

I added the questionnaire that I made for my sailor when she was there. The same one posted by BoosMom below :-) Thanks BoosMom!! It has a great paragraph with lots of encouragement and it is a little funny too. You can copy and paste it but be sure to tweak it to fit your needs. My sailor is a girl :-) This one is great to send one your sailor is at least half way finished with bootcamp and at least a week or so before battle stations. You can even send a couple extra copie for your SR to share with friends. I hope you like it.

Lizzy:  We were told that they are A School students and staff in the "100" picture.

No letter for me today :(!  Maybe tomorrow.  I do send my son a letter everyday.  Nothing earth shattering, just a note to tell him I love him and to keep his eye on the prize.  The prize is the future not this day!  Also sent him blank fathers day cards, with postage applied, to send out - told him to pick  the ones he wanted and give the rest away!  Happy Father's Day dads -- please know that your SR would love to be able to spend the day with you.

lizzy, after looking at the picture, it looks like it may be the A school students, who are in their dress whites.  I would think that the SR"s would not be allowed to wear those yet.

did all the SR do the 100th thing there
