Hello All!
"For we are His workmanship, created in
Christ Jesus for good works, which God
prepared beforehand that we should
walk in them."
Ephesians 2:10
Good Morning!
Greetings!
"Humble yourselves, therefore, under
God's mighty hand, that He may lift you
up in due time."
I Peter :5:6
I brought a whole box at the airport when we sent her off to BC. I am not as weepy about A school because it is in Pensacola and is only 3 hours away. I know I will not hear from her at first very often but at least she is close.
Mama, My son is forward deployed, my blue candle sits in my front window under my Blue Star Flag.
I have replaced the wax candle with a battery powered tea light, when he is in port I "light" it every day around 4pm, about the time he is starting his day. When he is "at sea" it is lighted 24/7.
Welcome, Ebby! So glad you found the group! Yes, BattleStations is a challenging time but they get through it! Then you will have a SAILOR!
Yes, Navymom. The people who experienced this said it was wonderful Hope it happens for you too!
I just totally got chills when you told me that about people clapping. wow, let the tears fall!!!
Navymom: You will be so blessed at the OHare airport as you say goodbye to your sailor. Many times, at the gates, when they announce for the sailors to board, they get a standing ovation from the other passengers! It is truly a treat. Sadly I missed this with my sailor since back then (5.5 yrs ago), I wasn't aware of the airport visits. Sigh....but there have been enough posts on here since then for me to know this happens!
Diannep that is good to hear about O'hare one less thing to worry about if we are there at the same time she is..When we were up there a month ago and flew from O'hare, we got to the airport in time but once we hit airport traffic, it took almost an hour to get dropped off at the entrance I needed..If you fly United you have no problem! LOL all the other airlines are step children!
