Ok, got a problem. I reserved a room at the navy lodge, but now my daughter, her husband and kids are coming and there won't be enough room. Are there any hotels nearby with family suites? Navy lodge is booked solid. I called.

Since the holiday is on a Saturday, there may not be much of a change in routine other than just a little more down time...some in the 900 division may possibly be performing in holiday parades, etc.

Also wondering if they do anything special for the SR's on a holiday, such as July 4th that is coming up.

I was thinking I might have to take our 20 lb dog with us. Staying at the navy lodge and I know it is ok to leave him in his crate there, but what about the airport?  We live in Missouri and would prefer not to have to back track 40 minutes back to the navy lodge to get our dog and then 40 minutes back again.  Is there any place near the airport that we could leave our dog for while we see our son off on his flight?

Is there anyone else in this group that has an SR going to SA TX for ASchool HM?
Comment by ellen0502 on June 23, 2015 at 9:53pm

MissingMyKing, They won't have anywhere to cash a check and they also don't need a prepaid card. There should be plenty of money on their "recruit card" to buy their essentials, and there isn't anything else they can even buy at this time.
