Good Morning Ladies....what a glorious Monday morning it is out here in California!   Just one more Monday morning and it will be PIR week.  Can you believe we are getting so close?  I am still working each day one day at a time...our SR's still have lots of work to do but I feel amazing that we are on the downside now.

Have a great day!!! :)

Good morning all!

Thanks for that info, ellen.  Makes sense and shows all that they are watching out for your SRs/sailors!  This was just such an odd thing.  I think that ladies had resigned themselves to the fact they didn't go through BattleStations, especially since a couple reported that the delayed gas chamber backed them up.  So...I'm thinking that the calls yesterday saying that they were sailors was a bit of a welcome surprise!

On base at GL there is also "heat conditions black" (Black Flag Conditions), I would assume it is also at RTC. WBGT and temperature over 90 degrees  (heat index)  stops all outdoor activity (including marching), they still walk in formation, but no cadence from what I understand.

This may also be a factor in whether or not they get to the phone bank when expected, since it is a march from ships to NEX etc. I don't know this for certain, but I do know on base it limits their activity.

omg Diannep, that is exactly what I posted. I guessed that there may have been storms or power outages or phone lines down that kept them from calling. Glad to see we have some new Sailors :-)

Hard to believe you all only have 2 weeks left of bootcamp.

OmahaRudy:  Seems like just last week that you were starting the group!  I know the first couple of weeks probably seemed to drag without hearing from them, etc....but didn't it start going by faster after that?

Strange thing....in the PIR 7/20 group, there were two divisions that were supposed to do BattleStations last Thurs night, calls on Fri afternoon.  Well, nothing every came through.  Then some ladies heard that it was postponed (or maybe surmised???) because the heat had been so bad up there that they postponed the gas chamber and didn't do that until last week.  Sooo....we all figured that tonight or tomorrow night would be the night for these first two divisions.

Well, guess what?  Calls started to come in this afternoon!  I'm a Sailor calls!  Yep, they went on Thurs night, as planned, but there were bad lightening storms in the area after that so they couldn't make the calls until today....2 days after they should have been made.  Wow....I guess it helped the ladies to think they hadn't gone through yet rather than knowing they did, but no calls.  I have never seen that happen before, and I've been monitoring BattleStations on here since early 2010!  But there are some very happy ladies over on PIR 07/20!

Sure hope that some of you heard from your SRs and have some BattleStations dates for me.  So far, I only have one division's date!  Please friend request/private message it to me if you have one.  No posting on the public pages.  Thanks!

Sounds delicious Lala. I have no experience with other groups, but ours does seem quiet :)

Our time is getting short for this group. We'll be going our separate ways soon. I have enjoyed this very much and marvel at how quickly things came together after those first few weeks.

I have already connected with the A school group but I'm trying not to spend too much time there yet. We still have two weeks of BC to get through.

I don't know about others, but I'm feeling very peaceful about this. Very proud and happy with the decision my son made to join.

This group is sooooo quiet. Where is everyone? :-)

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday. Today is my step-daughters 18th birthday. So I have been cooking and cleaning all day. We have lots of family and several of her friends coming over. We are having fresh Red Snapper caught while on vacation a couple weeks ago :-) Also grilled asparagus, homemade fruit salad, potato salad & baked beans, cheddar bay biscuits and of course birthday cake. Anyone hungry now? lol come on over :-)
