Denise, when I spoke to my son's recruiter he said that if we needed to add another person or 2 onto the list just give him the names about 2 weeks out from the graduation date. Not sure if that was correct information or not but that's what I was told. I know my son stated in 1 of his letters that on wk 5 they may be able to invite another person anyways. Maybe that will be the case & it won't be a problem. Would be nice to get some clarification on it though. There are 3 adults just in my house (myself, his brother (he's 13), & step-dad) that doesn't even include his real dad & Nana. That's why I asked upfront.
I've been asking my son to add a name to the invitation to graduation list; he said he don't know how. What can I tell him in my letter. Also, if at the last minute some friends want to come to graduation with us, what do we do? Do you have to have your name on the list to get in?
lol, my daughter packed for A-school what she thought she would need. I took her pretty large suitcase with me to Great Lakes (we drove) so she could get what she couldn't live without and she didn't take any of it lol. But she did set aside two pair of jeans and a couple shirts for me to mail to her. I guess she figured she didn't need all that and wouldn't be able to take it all with her. Now she is married and has her own place off base and 2 years later still hasn't come after her stuff :-)
Urabiss, I am so glad you all are okay. That is super scary. No more gas cans riding around in the car. I can't believe you put it back in the car and road home with it. I would pour the gas out and get rid of the can. It is probably no good any more with it being swelled like it was. You definitely have an angel watching out for you :-)
Loriemae-just read your post from a few days ago about not being able to go in your SR's room. I can't either. She closed the door when we left to go to the swearing in, and the only time it has been opened since, is when her dad put the"box" on it after it arrived. I am sure that the bed is still unmade, that the clothes in the box desparately need to be washed, and, well, I don't even want to think about the dust. My dog, Molly, lays outside her door most of the day, scratching on it, and barking waiting to be let in the room. We inherited my daughter dachshund when she left. He still runs to the door ready to greet her when the garage door goes up. I know he misses her and am shocked that my dog is having a more difficult time with this. My daughter used to call her a "spoiled brat" and was convinced that Molly hated her. I have sent my daughter letters from the dogs. I used ink pads to sign the letters with the dog's paw prints. She loved the letters, and the dogs still "write" her regularly. But the room-what to do??? Am soon going to have to face it...The days are counting down, and her phone and computer are in there. She packed most her things for A school before she left, but there were a few things she couldn't do ahead of time. Maybe I will be able to do it ...next week...We'll see.
Urabiss--omg! That was scary!! You were very bessed! Very glad that alol turned out well. Men! What are we to do with them? Guess that is why God made WOMEN..lol..
