Urabisswife, I am SO happy to see you back on here! I've missed you! Sorry to hear you haven't felt well. I can hardly imagine how difficult it is being away from your husband! I love the words I see in you post, "blessed," "thankful." He is a lucky man!

I have no doubt that we will see the changes they are feeling. I also have no doubt that it's all for good.

Loriemae, four letters? Seriously? I'm going to believe that my son is writing to his friends, too :) things are obviously looking better for our SRs! Love it!

I know what happened to the two weeks they took from your SRs A school -- they added them and four others to my son's! His went from 14 to 20 weeks. But he also mentioned leave at the end of A school! YES! Between that and the time sitting with him at the airport on July 28 I should have plenty of time to discover all the things he didn't write in letters :)

They got an academic flag? Hooray! I heard nothing about that, surprise, surprise! It really is fun filling in the gaps of information from what I glean from all of you. Thank you for sharing your

Let me share my last two days' emotional roller coaster. Our nest is empty. That's a good thing, it means I did my job and launched two adults into the world. Both have been out of the house for a couple years but my SR was working here, living in an apartment so he wasn't gone gone, like he is now. Anyway, kids have a tendency to leave things behind in their rooms, closets, bathroom, etc. The past two days I cleaned out their closets and bathroom vanity. Talk about tears as I went through things! Remembering when they wore something or participated in an activity. Yikes! Memory Lane was well trod :) It was cathartic.

It's hard to say goodbye to what was. But, don't you have to to truly embrace what is and what is to come?

Omaharudy - wanted to let you know I agree with your post 100% about the moms/wives on this site.  We are an amazing group!  And FTLW was write about becoming addicted to N4M's...I am constantly checking message....even if I can't respond I am always reading them.  And guess what...I found NavyforDads.com....my husband is hooked too!!!

Urabisswife - I saw your post just as I was posting mine.  I wanted to tell you, mr SR said the same thing about A school being knocked down to 4 weeks instead of 6....maybe your husband heard right.  Not sure what's up but we got the same info???

Sorry to hear you have not been feeling well...I'm sure that makes the separation harder!  Prayers and good thoughts are coming your way.  Take care of you!!!!!  We will see you in 3 weeks....

Got a letter today!!!!  Actually we hit the motherlode....4 letters.  One for his Dad, his sister, his girlfriend and the questionnaire for me and he actually wrote a bunch at the bottom of the questionnaire.  I’m so happy....been on cloud 9 all evening....crying tears of joy!!!  It’s odd but I swear I can sense the growth in his words and how he is stating things.  I’m so proud.  I’m just thinking if reading his words are bringing me to tears...what the heck’s PIR going to be like.  I think I am going to have to wear waterproof mascara...lol.

He named a few friends in the questionnaire....I will send private messages to division 937 mom’s to see if there is a connection.  He said their division got their academic flag...yea!!!  And like Omaharudy said...they did great on Marlinspike....got zero safety hits and finished 3 minutes early.  Definately sounds like they are coming together as a division!

I asked him in the questionnaire if he was proud of himself and told him that he should be...his response...”getting there”.  That’s my son...always has been hardest on himself.....a perfectionist....I think that comes from me :)   He said PT & IT are getting easier or better said...he is getting used to it.  He never has cared for running but said he’s getting to be a pretty okay runner whether he wants to or not...lol.

He wrote all about PT & IT to his sister.  She has always been very athletic (a competitive gymnast for 10 years) and he wanted to share a particular IT with her.  Apparently they were doing some sort of inspection and he was going over questions in his head so he would be ready and he missed the que to come to attention.  He got IT....100 8 counts (aka burpies)....his sister was pretty impressed.  He said it was awful but....he missed the que....gotta take the hit and you can bet I won't miss attention que again" LOL.  Okay...here come the tears again...proud just doesn’t cover it.  I know you all know what I’m feeling.

Sorry for the long post....thanks for being there and listening!!!!  You all just amazing...I’m so glad I found you!!!!  I can't wait to meet you all at PIR...just 3 weeks away!!!

the 4th of july was hard for me. it was my husbands birthday ! but i got through it. I did get two letters from him on thursday which shocked me because i thought they would come on friday seeing how wednesday was a holiday. i was blessed. one was only 1 page telling me where he would be standing at the PIR :) and how everything will work as soon as they are done. the other was 7 pages long :) i was so happy. He told me to be prepared because he has changed, but for the better . ahh i am nervous. he reassured me he was still the man i married. i guess we will have to see . i sure do miss him. as the days go by i am thankful , but its longer i have been away from him and how much i miss him grows ever day. i am staying busy . very busy, but he is on my mind all the time. which isn't a bad thing at all, i just wish he was physically here. he told me his A school was only 4 weeks then he gets 14 days of leave. but im almost 95% sure his A school is 6 weeks lol. sometimes he has selective hearing haha. but i am excited for the 14 days he gets for leave. we will see if that really happens though. :) i've been having some medical problems and its getting very irritating , it was a lot easier when my SR was here to help me with all of this. i feel like a pinball bouncing from one doctor to another. so prayers would be amazing. :) so proud of my SR <3 hope you all had a great fourth. be blessed

Well, dear friends, three weeks from today :) looking forward to seeing your bright smiling faces in the crowd -- and of course wearing Lala's ribbons :)

(of course we've missed you, Lala)

I'm sorry I haven't been more active lately. We have been on vacation and tomorrow we head home so things will get back to normal and I will be on here a lot more often :-) Glad to be heading home!!! I know you all have missed me right? lol

I'm going to change my name to Jealous-in-Omaha. I haven't gotten the questionnaire back! I loved the questions and thought it would be so much fun to answer them. It could still come.

I shouldn't complain -- we get a letter every week and have had two phone calls. I think I'm greedy.

ruzymommy, I read your message before I read your post. I'll be anxious to find out if our SRs know each other!

I just went through the posts all of you have written today -- what a great group! I remember when I first found N4M and FTLW said she couldn't be held responsible for people getting addicted. I thought, what is she talking about??? Little did I know WHO I'd be communicating with. What a great group -- and THINK about how far we've come. Now, imagine how for our SRs have come in the same amount of time!

I shake my head in amazement.

ruzymommy - glad to hear someone got the questionnaire back.  I sent my SR one but so far have not received it back.  If I know my son, he read it...probably thought it would be fun to send back but then put it away with his other letters and has forgotten about it!!!  Out of sight, out of mind...ha ha.  Oh well, it was fun to send.  And I'm sure he got a kick out of reading it.

Hoping for a letter today...it's going to be a long day at work just waiting to come home and check the mail!!!

Comment by diannep on July 6, 2012 at 8:22am

ruzymommy:  You can go to your division group above and send messages to the ladies on there with the last names you got (private messages...you must friend all first).  Hoping that some of the moms on there have SRs who are her friends!

Good morning all!
