Thank you for the information Lala and diannep!
Yes the waiting at A-school happens a lot. So when your Sailor tells you at PIR when they will finish and graduate A-school don't expect that date to be true. That is only in a perfect world with no waiting. they first have to phase up and then wait for classes to start. Some have to have a certain number to start so they have to wait for more with that rate. Others can't have more than a certain number in the class and there may be too many and they would have to wait for the next one. Most of the time the waiting is only 2 or 3 weeks but I have seen them wait a couple months for some rates. Join the A-school group on this site for your soon to be Sailor's rate and they can tell you much more about it. Even hold long the average wait time is :-)
OmahaRudy: That is a very common tactic to get them to unite and work hard...to threaten to set the entire division back. Individuals can be set back so they need to heed those warnings. But whole divisions haven't been...so far!
ruzymommy: Waiting a while to "class up" at A School is very common at most A Schools.
Good morning all!
Got our 2nd letter yesterday! It was longer than expected. She is doing good. Not much time to write. She said the RDC's are getting tired of them 'not all being on the same page'. She never mentioned being held back. I too hope it is a scare tactic and that it works! She mentioned they are going through WPI Training. Explained it is the weapons training and that she is pretty good at loading and unloading but it is the question part because they have to repeat them word for word. So she said she is studying like a mad woman!
She also mentioned that another girl told her that once she gets to her A school (San Antonio) they might have to wait up to 4 weeks before starting due to waiting for everyone to get through basic...
ruxymommy thanks so much, I appreciate your order. I am excited to you to see and WEAR them too!!!! Thanks Diannep :-)
What UrabissWife posted looks like Sarge's MeetNGreet? He is in the almost last picture with the ballcap on.
Got our 2nd letter...short and sweet like I expected. My SR is not much of a writer. Anyway doing fine. Not a lot of details but he's doing good. He didn't say anything about the threat to hold them back a week. It was just so good to read his words :)
Hi UrabissWife, What division is your husband in?
i got my second letter today it was longer than expected but i sure felt blessed i wish it could have been longer. but we all know our SRs are busy bees :) i was very happy. but not to happy to hear their division may get a division set back. i sure hope they can pull together and graduate on time. especially if people didnt get insurance on their tickets. He is doing well. he got a special badge for being the RCPA. im proud of him. less than a month left YEAY
