Lisa:  Kinda figured you were in TX when you mentioned your temp...had to check your page to see!  I know because my former sailor now lives in TX and says how HOT it is.  We get pretty hot where he is from (Miami FL) but we have the seabreeze that helps a bit.  Our temps don't get out of the 90's, but when you add the heat index (i.e., humidity)....UGH!  Over 100 many times....

ruzymommy:  You will LOVE Lala's ribbons!  Beautiful!

No letter yesterday :(  I really did not expect one.  On our phone conversation she mentioned how little of time she had to write.  I told her not to worry about writing.  She is just like me and if she has a choice between 10 minutes of sleep or writing a letter, she will take the sleep.  HA!  I keep writing to her every day.  Lord knows she needs the letters more than me!  Maybe we will get one today, but not counting on it!  I will keep everyone informed!

I thought the same thing yesterday-1 month and PIR!  So excited!  I'm bummed that we will not be able to attend any of the meet and greets.  We are getting in really late on Thursday night!

Did anyone else order PIR Ribbons from Lala?  I did and cannot wait to see them!  NO-Wear them!

I got a second letter today too!!  I was so happy to hear from her!!!!  Al sounds good.  This one was short and sweet.  One month from today she graduates, I CANNOT wait to see her.  She was saying that some thought it was hot there at 90*  lol and thaought that was kinda funny cause here we are at 106*.  I hope off of your SR's are sending letters and doing great!!!!!  Well wishes to all  :)

Thanks Dianne, it was a small group but we had a great time and talked and hung out for several hours. It was good having my Sailor here to meet them. Now she knows I am not the only crazy Navy Mom lol :-)

We finally are getting some sun YAY. Everyone here except me went out on the boat toady. I had to stay here and work lol and get ready for the party. Now I am the only one who isn't sunburned. When I am not with them they don't apply sunscreen often enough. Do they ever learn to listen to Mom?

OmahaRudy - no second letter today but wasn't expecting one.  Being in Calif, we got our letter last week on Thursday.   So I'm thinking Thurs will be our letter days.  Looking forward to tomorrow.

Yes, OmahaRudy:  There is a chance that he may get some time off during Christmas.  The A School bases basically shut down during that time.

Got our second letter today! Two little paragraphs :) he enjoyed our phone conversation last week, hearing news and leaning on the bulkhead! Sounds like there isn't a lot of leaning going on otherwise :) HA!

He's very excited about what they are learning this week. Basic seamanship, naval history and more. He wants to get down to business. That all sounds good to me.

Oh, and he's looking forward to graduation -- and Christmas. I don't know where he's getting idea that he's coming home for Christmas. I dont have the nerve to tell him that the Navy keeps on a rollin' 24/7, 365. Somebody else can give him that news. I suppose there's a chance he'll be able to come home then, but i'm not holding my breath on that one :)

So, what's going on with your SRs?

Lala:  I hope that the get-together went well!  Let us know how it went!  Glad that you are now finally getting DRY WEATHER!  Goodbye, Debby!
