Loriemae, yes after a long wait of 7min. he did get to call back. I spoke w/him about 16min which seemed more like an hour. I knew he didn't get a chance to call his father Sat. so he wanted to speak w/him before his dad left for work this evening. The sacrifices we mothers make just so our children will be happy. When I spoke to my son Sat. it seemed like 15min or so but was 45min. Crazy how time seems to change depending on what's going on & their mood. He wasn't on a sugar high this time but still was talkative. I did get to ask questions this time, unlike Saturday. He was rambling on I couldn't get a word in.

I'm w/most of you ladies I can't wait to meet all of you in person. I feel like we've been on such an amazing journey together & even though some of us don't get on here daily we read everyones post via email. It has made this process so much easier. After this weekend we now will have to step it up & be the women who help the next set of mothers/wives through their journey.

We head out from GA tomorrow so I'll meet each of you either Thurs. if we get in early enough or Friday. Have a safe & blessed trip & we shall speak again.

Thanks ladies!! God bless each & everyone of you:)

Dianep - it is a wonderful song....one of those songs that always brings tears to my eyes whenever I hear it. Its also a song that my sailor and I both love....so that made it special on another level for us.
I was touched by your sons request for his dads funeral....god bless and thanks for your support through all this.

Loriemae:  The "capping(cover)" ceremony is very emotional for them.  Every now and then, RTC FB will post a pik of it.  So great to see those tired new sailors switching out that RECRUIT ballcaps for their NAVY ballcaps!

I didn't realize that they played that wonderful song "Proud to be an American" then.  Wow.  That was sung at my husband's memorial service, at my youngest son's (future sailor then) request.  I bet hearing that song when he was trading his cap back in 2010 really brought up emotions for him.  My son wanted that sung at his dad's service because he died just 6 days after 911...and my son knew that his dad loved his country!  It is an awesome song!

Ughhhh, 817 Mom's are holding our breath.  Can't wait for that callllllllllll!!!!!!!! Congrats 937 Mom's.  Hang in there new Mom's it honestly will get better and really worth it.  You hear the confidence in your SR's voices when they make that middle of BC call and how proud they feel.  Then you meet such wonderful Mom's.  Aside from the Boot camp site, there is the Wash/Oregon site and our 817 specific email group.  All have been just tremendous.  Perfect strangers, becoming Perfect friends.  Now on to PIR and meeting face to face and then our A school Mom's group.  It is so worth it.  I work in a place where I see young men who have made terrible, life altering mistakes, that affect their lives FOREVER, it takes a toll seeing such distruction, however, to then see these Magnificent children that we have had the pleasure of raising and see the positive choice they have made for themselves, it is just sheer delight.  Can you tell I was watching the 7 min. video of a PIR today.  Was balling my eyes out at the pride you feel as a parent.  And that wasn't even my Son's PIR, this weekend - yeah!

Ahhhh.....so happy for the new sailors of 937!  HOOYAH!  I know there are many happy ladies (and men??) on here tonight!  Congrats!

Now....on to the next groups!

Ladies, if you don't receive a phone call tonight from your 937 sailor, just know that he/she may have had "watch" and hopefully will call later or tomorrow.  Since OmahaRudy said that the whole division passed, that is great news!

Congratulations Division 937!!!!!  What an amazing phone call.....ellen0502 you are absolutely right....the best phone I've had in a long time....maybe ever!!!!  He sounded great....full of confidence and so happy!!!!  Tired, of course....been  up for 36 hours.  Of course, he couldn't share details but did say that battlestations went well...he didn't say anything about trouble at the end or essays.  He said it got emotional durning the cover ceremony:  1. because it was such an awesome feeling and 2. because the song "Proud to Be an American" was playing in the background.  Got me crying while he was telling us about it.  We talked for 1 hour....best hour ever....he also had to hang up after the first minutes like Cherylhubb said....a couple of sailors got into some trouble...but then he called right back.  Cherylhubb....I hope your sailor got to call back.  We talked about everything and anything.  He has lost 20 pounds since this all started.  He knows I'm always trying to lose 10 pounds...he said i should try bootcamp....lol...the Navy would have to ship me home on medical after the first PT....forget IT...ha ha!!!  He doesn't know about how much liberty time he will after after PIR and through the weekend but did say they will get liberty information tomorrow.  While I would love to have as much time as possible, I will be so grateful and thankful for whatever time we have.  I can't wait to see my sailor.

Ladies - our loved ones did it.  They are US Navy Sailors!!!!!  And we did it too...we have survived!!!!  While there were times I felt like I couldn't take another day of missing him, not hearing from him, and not knowing what was going on....waiting for each milestone like the box, the form letter, the first real letter, to mark the days....I honestly wouldn't change a thing.  What my sailor and I have gained is worth every minute of it.  My recruit is now a sailor and is so proud....He is proud to be a US Navy Sailor and proud of himself and I have made some amazing new friends in all of you...thank you for taking this journey with me and helping me along the way.  I can't wait to meet you....some of you on Thursday at Sarge's meet and greet and hopefully others on Friday.

Let's all just stay up on this cloud we are floating on....I am rather enjoying the feeling....God Bless and see ya in just a few days!!!!
