Wow Betsy, that sounds like so much fun. I wish I was there to go with you :-)
I have received an email saying several people including you Betsy want to join the PIR group on FB but for some reason they are not showing up on the group for me to add you. i even tried logging out and going back but no luck. Maybe it has to wait for FB to update to show up. I will add you guys as soon as it will let me. So so sorry for the delay.
Good Morning ladies! It's an absolutely beautiful Flag Day here in Maryland. I've been sitting here watching the weather channel and thought of you all. Al Roker is broadcasting in my hometown of Baltimore for our "Sailabration" celebration. We are celebrating the 200th anniversary of the war of 1812. Yesterday over 40 tall ships from all over the world and numerous US Navy ships arrived at our harbor for the next few days to take part in the celebration. The Blue Angels will arrive today and I can't wait because I have tickets to go see their show on Sunday at Ft. McHenry. The flag flying over the burning fort at Ft. McHenry, during the war of 1812, was Francis Scott Key's inspiration to write the National Anthem. It's a wonderful week here and I can't wait to be a part of it.
Thanks Wendy :-) I added you. If anyone sends a request and then doesn't get added within a few hours please let me know. You can email me at uniquememorymakers@yahoo.com I am getting requests from people to be added to the group and then when I go to the group to add them some of the requests aren't there. Not sure why that is happening but I am trying to figure it out. If anyone has had this experience and knows how to fix it please let me know.
Thanks Lala, I just sent my request in to be added.
Lots of moms/wives/families etc hanging out in this group. Feel free to join us if you like :-) https://www.facebook.com/groups/327167160695549/
jacquesalle: There is a discussion above in the Forum for Div 229 so please be sure to join that to meet others who have SRs with yours. AND, you may want to start one for 230? Don't see that anyone has done that yet!
Be sure to stay on this main board too as we will be supplying lots of info here!
Yeah, I joined it as well. I was curious lol. Right now it has more moms than Dads lol but hopefully not for long.
I have a son, Eddie, in Ship 13 Division 229- and another - like a son in ship 13, Division 230. I would love to hear from any of you moms or dads that may have sailors with my two young men! :)
