Lisa: I don't see that anyone has started a Div discussion above for Div 228, so why don't you start one? The other ladies of 228 will find it. But stay on this main board too as we will be posting lots of good info on there...the discussion groups above are a good place to get to know one another though...since your SRs are together.
Just click "Add a Discussion" above here and get started!
Yay! Welcome Lisa and ruzymommy. We are happy to "see" you.
To add to what ruzymommy said about her daughter requesting letters. Please, please, please, write as often as you can to your SR, even if some of your tough guys told you not to write "too much" as my son did when he was in BC. They live for the mail call and look so forward to hearing from all of you. You can never write "too much" trust us.
Ok I will start off and try to break the shyness...My daughter has been on the delayed entry program since last July! She swore in on 5/30 and it was harder than I thought! I cried like a baby! She did call that evening but sounded like she was crying...talk about breaking your heart! A week later her recruiter called with her address. I have been sending her a letter everyday! That same evening we received 'the box'. We received the 'form' letter yesterday. She did write really small down in the corner- I LOVE & MISS YOU SEND PICTURES! She is Ship 02/Div 937 with her PIR of 7/27/12! Now to wait for the 1st letter and phone call!
My ex got the letter yesteday and our daughter is Ship 12 Div 228, there isn't any info anywhere~~that I can find, maybe I should put my granny glasses on!!! Does anyone else have this Ship & Div?
Hello ladies! I see we have some new members on our member list. Please don't be shy, come on and join our conversations. Dianne, Lala and I are filling space on here right now. We'd love to hear all about you and your sailor.
Dianne, that's kinda how it was in our house, after 18 they were all so busy that I was lucky to get a few nights a week for family dinners.
Lala, when you figure out how to get the instant dinners, would you please pass it on to us?
...my response to that question at times would be: I don't know...see what you can find in the cupboard/refrig and "have at it!"
Well, seriously, I did fix dinner each night with the boys were growing up, and continued after hubby died (sniff...), but once boys got over 18, they pretty much wanted to handle their own meals. With one son back now, I cook maybe a night or two a week if he is here, but he rarely is home for dinner. A salad is all I need for myself!
I do that as well Dianne, once I sit down you are on your own lol. I need to be rich, so I can just decide what we will have for dinner and then it is there finished and ready for us to enjoy at a specified time. I hate it when 5 people walk in within minutes of each other all wanting to know whats for dinner. It's like they think because I work from home that I have time to work all day and clean and cook all day too. At some point I would like to say whats for dinner? lol
Just a headsup from some who attended PIR last week that it is a bit chilly in the PIR Hall so be sure to bring a light jacket/sweater!
Enjoy, OmahaRudy! Hope you have good weather for your golf game!
Good Morning all!
Lala/Betsy: My rule when my hubby/boys were here at meal time was this:
I cooked dinner, put their plates on the table, and would get them last minute things in the kitchen (ketchup, etc) if they asked before I sat down to eat. BUT once I sat down, that was it...get those things yourself! Plus, everyone took over their own plate, rinsed it, and put it in the dishwasher. Funny....this is an issue now with my sailor and his fiance. He has always done this, but she likes to leave dishes around and in the sink. Drives him crazy!
