Hey CorysNavyMom! I am very sorry that your son was down. It is hard when we can't do anything to help them. But he will be fine. Ingrowns heal fast(I have had 2 sons have them) and he will be up and around in no time and more determined than ever! As far as the 8 hour thing, that will be the same for alot of us. I have known that Friday and a little while on Saturday will probably be it with my son too. I think alot of the SR's will be flying to Pensacola. At least then we can communicate with them and it will be more like they are gone away to school. I will be praying for you and your son. LisaRobin

Hang in there CorysNavyMom--  Everything will come together and your SR will be fine.  Sometimes it seems that some of the SRs just take a couple of weeks to acclimate to their new routine and surroundings.  Keep the faith that the Navy knows what it is doing and that your SR is in good hands.

amyj96..thank you. Im so upset for him. He is such an upbeat kid and lets very littel get him down. So im at a loss. The PIR and leaving soon after is what has him the most down. I hope as they progress over the next week or so he might feel better. I tried to tell him it will be ok and that they are going to enter the phase where they will compete and win flags and such. He said he didnt know anything about that. I wish they kept the recruits better informed.

oh CorysNavyMom!  I'm so sorry!  That makes me wonder what is going on w/my SR.  I received the letter and he 'sounded' good but i havent received a call.  I don't know that he would put negative things in a letter.  I will add him to my prayer list!  I'm praying for all of our children that are up there now!

my SR called today. He's unfortunitely not sounding ok like the rest of your recruits. Im very sad for him. He's unhappy because he found out he will only have 8 hrs with us after PIR. That is bringing him down more than anything. He also had his ingrown toe nails removed and so he's on light duty. Can't march and is on medications. He woke up this morning thinking he had pink eye. But now he thinks not. He said his whole division isnt coming together and cant get there crap together. So they are losing time for calls and so forth. And spending a lot of time doing IT (intense training). He doesnt see a light at the end of the tunnel. His whole division is also leaving at the same time and all flying to A school in Pensicola, FL. I think his whole division is undesignated. He wants to talk to a career counsler there to see if any jobs have come available yet, but he cant. He doesnt want to get in trouble for even asking. And said the only way to see one is if the whole DIV is sent there. I just feel helpless for my son. I can't help him. I dont know what he can do. and he's becoming depressed over it all.
