Good morning!  Please let me know if you can see the countdown clock.  My computer has a case of the Mondays.  :-)

Remember, they train with their brother divisions (yes, they would be in the same ship).  Yours are listed in the BattleStations discussion group above.  And FTLW is correct...there are constantly ones being rotated out of their group (some more than others) and others are joining their group who are back from being "asmoed".  Asmoed is "setback in training."  This is due to illness, injury, discipline, language issues, emotional issues, etc.  My son was asmoed for a week.  He actually did great when put back in another division and pushed harder than ever to get it done!

Although the divisions start with around 88 SRs, they usually graduate with between 65-75 in a group...sometimes a few more/less.  Some of those removed from their division are actually discharged, others asmoed and rejoin other divisions.  But the sad thing is that your SRs won't know.  Once they leave their division, they don't hear from them/see them again...unless they traded cell numbers and get in touch after bootcamp is over.  They make some very special friendships while in bootcamp/A School!

Thanks Sistersue and Onboard mom - I've had a lot of things going on since he was shipped. He was actually living with my sister for a few months, and I'm in a new city an hour outside my father's house, so I am sure he didn't remember my new address. Because of this he sent the box and form letter to my sister's house, and she has provided no information to me except for his address even tho I have left vm's and emails to which I"ve had no response. She has not forwarded the form letter. So, it's been rough. Thankfully because of all the kind folks here, I have found out the PIR date, etc... and all the information I need to know.

Firsteamleaderwife, I was reading the discussion about how divisions are formed at the very moment you were posting your comments here!  The information is very enlightening, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate it.  I felt so in the dark about all of it.  With understanding comes comfort.  Thank you!

amberrose-when you get a chance...can you pick out a countdown clock that you like and post it in the same place as the weather. Then you ladies can see how close you are getting to your PIR!

If you need the link again, let me know!

Thanks! You are doing a great job!

Ladies-

NEW Post in the Discussion Forum explaining SHIP/DIV.

My son said that his bother DIV was right across the hall from theirs.

Right now I am seeing SHIPS-02(performance), 04 (SPECOPS), 07, 09, 11.

The SHIP is not as important as their DIV number. This is stenciled inside their Sailor hat and stays with them for life (this was the first thing I asked to see!)

Their SHIP is just where they live. As you can see you have many different SHIPS, but your DIV go in numerical order.

There are 14 SHIPS and about 12 DIV to a SHIP.

They start out with 88 SR to a DIV. They can lose many during the first two weeks. More still along the way. They can then gain some more along the way! These are SR who have been held back for various reasons and did not PIR with their original group. Please read the posts, they will explain in more detail.

I think the brother divisions share a ship. Because my son's ship is 11 and his DIV is 243. But there is a ship 11 with a DIV of 244 also.

You guys are great with all your information!  It is very nice to hear how your SR's are doing. I am so glad that my husband found this website. I feel honored to be a part of it all.

I understand 10 divisions/  one division a ship?  Is graduation for 08/05/2011 on one ship?
