amberrose= My bad, you do NOT add in the description box. Go to your group and in the box directly under where you can change your picture is where you add the CDC and W. You will get all ot the URL...just delete that part before  you add.

I am a web page "dummy". I did make up a group to play on to figure it all out, and I will delete it when I can remove my dunce cap! Once I figure out how to delete the group! I will ask BunkerQB!

dianne-I am looking at all of JessicaBSailors "standard" posts so I can get a "feel" of what to get on a site early on for info. I will either just post her posts directly (if that is all right) or rewrite and post. 'K?

amberrose- Here are some links to add a Count Down Clock and the Weather for Great Lakes to your group. I believe you use the Description box to add these. I've never started a group! I'll have to make a "dummy" one and then delete just so I know how it works!

Also, if you would like too, you may change the picture for the group to something significant you would like to represent your group. There are LOTS of Naval items on the web. There should be a photo tab for you to change this.

No, mostele. The wheelchairs are really just for transport to/from PIR Hall on the base.  If you all visit the NEX after PIR, it may be that he can use it then, but you won't be staying on RTC long.  They cordone off most of the base from the public...so other than the NEX, there is not much to see.  And there is another NEX off base (and one on A School base) that you could visit with your sailor anyway.

I'm lucky in that if my sister and father do not go to graduation, my older son and I can stay with one of my friends in Chicago (where we used to live) so we'll see. PA to Chicago is a 12 hour trip driving (my dad will NOT fly) and he is aleady asking if there will be a lot of walking. I know I can get a wheelchair escort on the base, but will they allow us to take the wheelchair during liberty time too? Anyone know?

theraysmom: What becomes frustrating to them is...since they are "building" team players here...an SR can be doing everything right and still be punished because some others are not. Just part of the comraderie theme...because it can mean their lives one day.  My son said when he was there, one guy did something wrong (don't remember what)....he had to sit down on the floor and watch the rest of his division do IT for a very long time.  He said the guy ended up in tears because of course, HE was the one who was wrong.  The emotional price he paid for that error was much harder than any IT he would have done.  Because the "group" gets punished many times for an individual's issue, it inspires the SRs to help one another in their weak areas so they all do well.  In the beginning, though, it causes lots of irritation and fights until this mentality "kicks in."  It is really amazing....the transformation that takes place!

theraysmom, I wondered the same things about my daughter when she was there. She said she just wanted to get through as quickly as possible with the least amount IT as she could get lol. So she made sure she listened closely and got it all done. She said she tried to be invisible and not draw attention to herself but it was not easy. I can imagine for her that it was pretty hard. She is a happy, bubbly, very talkative, and social young lady who is always noticed lol.

thanks for all the answers to the Division question. I Couldn't get on yesterday because of a wedding .Today because of Fathers Day. Reading this and watching all the videos from the Navy kind of gives me a picture of what my son life is about right now. Lots of togetherness and competion at the same time and of course the yelling. Funny I try and imagine my son doing something the first time he is asked or told. Also not question why, at least out loud. I wonder all the time what it is like for him, can't wait to hear from him.
