I have a question for anyone who is familiar with Nuke school in Charleston, SC. Any idea when is the soonest we can expect to be able to see our son after he arrives there on Sat. Aug. 6th?  We plan to drive there after graduation to give him his box of belongings, and I'm wondering if we should try to get there ASAP after PIR, wait a few days or not go at all if he won't be allowed to see us during that first week or two (we need to be back home in So. Cal. by around August 26th).  Any information or thoughts about this will be very much appreciated!

btw, I spent a couple hours on the Nuke Mom site, perusing the groups, discussion boards, and forums and didn't find much there about this.  I also posted the question on one of the groups that seemed appropriate but the most recent activity there was on Tuesday, so I don't know how active that group is.

CorysNavyMom, that is the million dollar question for sure.  Some of the SR's will seem to have that info and, if you are lucky, they will pass it on to you in their letters.  However, others will either not know or just keep the date to themselves, like my son did.  lol

Bobbie, same with my son.  The first 12 letters I sent all at once kind of overloaded him, and he asked me to cut back to 1 or 2 per week.  When he called a week later he said to PLEASE disregard that and write as much as I can. He repeated in a letter soon after that he retracts his request for me to cut down on the letters to him and that he wants me to write to him a LOT.  Gotta love him!
