CorysNavyMom:  Oh, that is so sad...especially since the dismissed SR was such a help to all.  Yes, they get very close to their bunkmates...misery loves company, you know?  Helps to bond them in the "right" ways.

Glad you got a longer letter and that he sounds good!

Got a much longer letter this time! He sounds good! Said he passed his first test with a 4.1 out of 5. He sounded happy about that and also said he did really well on a suprise inspection.

He said they went to a line handling class "and saw like 5 ways to die just from the lines holding the ship to the pier". Said the instructor was really cool though and that he made his day.

Then he said one of the guys from his Division was sent home for for good for medical issues and that set the mood low because he was the one who was going out of his way to help everyone become closer and true shipmates.

That must stink for them as they become closer as a group. But he does sound better! Three weeks to go!!!

Bobbie:  Lala is absolutely correct.  And lucky for this SR, there IS a BattleStations group going tomorrow night from PIR 7/22 that he will go with if he passes his run in the morning.  There isn't always a Thurs night BattleStations each week, although there usually is.

Prayers for this SR, everyone!  It happens all of the time and many of them get it done!

Bobbie, there is still a chance he could PIR on Friday. IF he passes the test tomorrow he could go through battlestations with a group from next weeks PIR. That does happen quite a bit. He would not actually march in for PIR but but be there in the PIR hall sitting in the bleachers. Way too tired to be standing through the ceremony. If he doesn't pass the test by tomorrow they will likely move him tot he FIT division. When he passes he will not have PIR and will will go to A-school usually with the next group leaving. I will keep him in my prayers.

Good. So that must mean he passed it.

Diannep...His girlfriend goes to Miami University so the two of them have spent a lot of time there. My son LOVES it there. But at 19 that's pretty expected LOL
