Hi Theraysmom, from what I have been able to gather (from a N4M discussion forum and a fb post) hell week is the phase that entails "Fire fighting training, and shipboard damage control classes. This week you will learn how to

put fires out, how to properly don fire safety gear in case you must fight a fire onboard ship, how to open and close watertight doors, and operate fire fighting equipment. This week also finds you and your shipmates inside the gas chamber, being exposed to tear gas while you and everyone else recites name and social security number. You will also go through the confidence course again, further solidifying the concept of teamwork and [comraderie]."

You will also have extra inspections, extra PT, extra drill, etc. and things are stepped up to see who can handle the stress.

If anyone out there knows more or different information, I would be interested in hearing it!!!

Kdahlen:  We stayed at Residence Inn Waukegan.  They have studios and 2 bdrm 2 bth units, all with full kitchens, PET FRIENDLY, PIR shuttle, free hot buffet breakfast.  About 4 miles from RTC.  There is also Springhill suites, Courtyard Inn, Ramada Inn, etc. Ramada is where the MeetNGreet will be the night before PIR.  All of these hotels have the PIR shuttle...Ramada has their own and it is free.
